1.
Unlikely to fit. Fill the existing holes and redrill.
Thanks chaps. Sorry if I'm being dense but do you mean the existing holes to the body would show after fitting the replacement pickguard or just that they wouldn't line up?
2. Been considering another p bass build and lack of dosh has got me thinking about using a Squier body. So just wondering if the american fender pick guards fit? Advice gratefully received.
3. Like Vibrating G String mentions, it is worth considering balance as well as weight. A while back I stopped gigging my Jazz because it was becoming uncomfortable for me due to my shoulder/upper back problems. Swapped to my P Deluxe which solved the problem but surprisingly is the heavier of the two instruments.
4. Thanks GW excellent set of pics. Appreciated being able to sit here in the peace and quiet of my lounge, looking at all the kit.
Big order of cables arrived Friday, gigged with Saturday. All work, all beautiful, envy of the rest of my band. thanks yet again Dave. If you are new and wondering how a guy making cables gets all this positive feedback, don't worry about it; just order from him, you'll soon see what all the fuss is about.
Agreed and I'm sure my P bass actually sounds better with the cable I got from Dave on Friday.
6. You have just given me a much welcome sunday morning

Thanks Dave. Another quality instrument cable.
8. Thanks Nick. Yes it did turn out well, I want to do another now, probably a 70's jobbie.
9. I was bored today, so had a bass cleaning/maintenance day and then got the camera out.
10. Same here. Totally spoils a gathering of bassists and it's exactly why I stopped going to shows and bass bashes. I really did want to go to this one, but glad I didn't given what you have said Clarky.
11. That is a handsome beast. Love the look of the neck, well all of it really. The Jap necks are fine things aren't they?
12. My daughter was gassing over a blue burst one when we were there a couple of weeks back and yes it was a Tribute. Exceedingly nice bass it was too.
13. Might be an idea to contact the chaps at Gig Gear in Harlow, I'm sure they will be able to recommend somewhere.
14. Nice one, good to hear it's a happy ending.
15. Good choice, Yamaha basses are nearly always well put together instruments. Nice paint job.
16. Yes I've had the same not with a Gibson, but surprisingly an Alembic. Took it back to the Bass Centre after a month or so of ownership and swapped it for the P bass in my avatar.
17.
At the end of a cracker at The Hop , Wakefield I laid my Blueflower 54P reish on top of my rak bag as I always do and went back to the front of the stage to soak the glory up etc............. caught my foot in the lead - bass fell from about 5ft onto a combination of wooden stage and metal railing. Result......... not a scratch. Nothing. Didn't even go out of tune.
I was cringing reading this waiting for the details of damage. Glad it was a happy ending.
18. Still not had my strings either. I will be chasing them up, but cheesed off that I need to.
19. Glad you finally got the sale. on here or ebay?
20. Nice one Burrito and a lovely collection. Here's my '58 bitsa, although it has also appeared in the precisions thread.
21. What a let down. There are varying degrees of migraine though and if the singer suffers with the serious variety then he deserves sympathy. Migraine has been given a bad name by people calling a bad headache a migraine, much like people with a cold, claiming that they have the flu.
22. Good for you, wishing you luck.
