  1. I don't usually resort to tabs, but I'm struggling with The Jam, Going Underground and need to get it nailed by the weekend for my first rehearsal with a new band. The tabs that I have tracked down, just don't seem right, infact a couple of them are very wrong. Anyone able to point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. Gary
  2. Good man, I just love Northern Soul. Although it was a guilty pleasure when i first got in to it back in the 70's, because at the time myself and all of my peer group were into prog and heavy stuff. I had one denim jacket covered with badges and patches of Led Zepp, Heavy Metal Kids, Sabbath and such like. And another one with the Torch and Wigan Casino and the like, that I wore away from home. Rebel without a clue!
  3. Any thoughts? Not at the moment, think I will need to re read your post a few times, before my befuddled head can get to grips with it. Sorry.
  4. I'm not sure that is really. I have a MIA deluxe precision with the option of through body stringing. Have tried stringing both ways and couldn't hear any difference. Well maybe a slight difference, but certainly not enough to be noticeable in a gigging situation. I'm sure there will be plenty out there with a different perspective though.
  5. Quite a lot of views, but no offers. If you think I have priced it incorrectly, make me an offer, you never know I might say yes.
  6. Sorry, ignore my last post. I've just got up to speed on the developments.
  7. That doesn't sound too good wayne, hope you haven't been done over mate
  8. I fitted a Badass 2 to my my Squier Jazz and a set of Wizard pickups. Both upgrades were well worth the money. The bridge was a direct replacement, no routing and all existing screw holes lined up. I don't know if that can be said for the Gotoh, but I'm sure someone else will be along to tell you. The pickup wasn't so easy, but that was down to my lack of experience with a soldering iron. Once I had practised a bit and got some advice on this forum, all was fine. Andy at Wizard is very helpful and patient. They have a website, but I don't know how to the do the link thing, sorry. Gary
  9. Agreed, a lot of yamaha instruments are very good, but often under rated. Discontinued now and set to become collectible I'm told.
  10. [attachment=42460:097.JPG][attachment=42461:098.JPG][attachment=42462:099.JPG][attachment=42463:100. JPG][attachment=42464:101.JPG] I have decided too move this one on, as I'm just not using it. I purchased it two years back for a project that never actually got off the ground. I believe that the previous owner used it for recording purposes only. I haven't gigged it or even taken it out for a rehearsal. It is in absolutely perfect unblemished condition, no buckle rash or dings anywhere and resides in a luxury hardcase, which is also in first class condition. The body is alder finished with a maple veneer. Maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. No wear or damage to frets. Humbucker and Piezo pick ups. Three band active eq. Low battery indicator. Easily accessed flip up battery cover. Expecting a bit of a one trick pony with this bass, I was pleasantly surprised and very pleased at the variety of sounds available. With the eq and pick up combination it's very versatile. Given the condition of this instrument and the excellent case, I am asking £320.00. NEW PRICE £275 I'm happy for anyone interested to come around for a coffee and test drive. Would prefer collection, but willing to post at purchasers expense. Pm me for any further info.[attachment=42459:108.JPG]
  11. [attachment=42383:018.jpg]I have aYamaha bex that I'm thinking of sellling. I got it two years ago for a project that never actually got off the ground. It's not getting played and is surplus to requirements. I've not gigged it or even taken it to rehearsals. I think the previous owner used it for recording. It is totally immaculate, not a mark on it and lives in a quality Yamaha hard case. Pm me if its of interest to you. All the best Gary.

  13. If you have an electricity supply in the shed, then I would advise the use of a dehumidifier.
  14. Thanks chaps. Maybe I'll go with the foil option then.
  15. It's about time that I got around to shielding all the cavities on mine and my daughters VMJ basses. Can anyone recommend a product and supplier. I'm thinking of a brush applied product, rather than foil. Thanks in advance. Gary.
  16. Well it's certainly a looker, but sorry don't know anything about that model. I'm guessing it's active? Like you I have P Bass Deluxe, so I suppose if I wanted just one additional alternative it probably wouldn't be another active bass. Ideally for me the alternative would be a decent Jazz, passive of course.
  17. A pleasure to deal with. one of the good guys.
  18. Just awful, so sorry. A mate of mine died yesterday. So a day of contemplation.
  19. The last band I was with had very loud guitarists, keyboards and powerful drummer. I had to eq my amp very differently to my more normal settings. Mids are your friends .....
  20. I think he is still with them. The late Gary Thain provided the bass on Easy Livin'
