  1. I've just bought a 2" x !0" from another Basschatter. Sounds great, but hell is it heavy.
  2. At our rehearsal last night I was told we were doing three Beach Boys numbers. Never played any before, enjoyed them though and got to get it all nailed sharpish, as we are gigging Saturday night. California Girls, Sloop John and Surfin' USA.
  3. [attachment=9872:musical_...ents_002.jpg] Here's my Yamaha. Although it's a lovely bass, I'm thinking of selling it.
  4. Just turn up on time. Set up without a fuss. Tune up quietly. Don't overplay and absolutely DO NOT widdle about and try out riffs etc. between numbers. Enjoy it, good luck
  5. Let me know how much, would be a start and then we can take it from there. Cheers.
  6. I've been after a 2 x 10" with horn for a while. So if Tengu has the other one, then I would be interested. Have a think and let me know how much. Cheers all the best, Gary.
  7. Hi, Just wanted to bump your post up, so that someone else might be able to help. I have somehow managed to trap a nerve in my shoulder, which gives my fretting hand and arm major grief within seconds of trying to play. So no practice, rehearsing or learning new numbers for the immediate future.
  8. Hi mate. I heard that number on the radio last week and really enjoyed it. Haven't played it yet though, will download it and have a go. Not going to be of much help to you at the moment though, sorry. I'm away for a few days, but will try next week and get back to you, if no one else has responded. All the best Gary.
  9. I got one of these a month or so back and I am hugely impressed. Just fitted a Badass 2, purchased on this forum. An easy job and a definite improvement. Planning to order a pair of the wizard 84's soon. But not sure whether to brave the soldering iron myself or get someone to do it for me. Apart from strap locks, that will be my lot I think. cheers, Gary.
  10. Sorry to hear that mate. Wishing you a speedy recovery. A few years ago I had a mishap cutting cable ties with a stanley knife. I knew that I should have got a pair of cable cutters but couldn't be bothered. Nearly cost me my life. The blade slipped and entered my wrist and kept going for about three inches. Cut along side the artery, but not through it. I was on my own and it was a real gusher. Still get all of a wobble thinking about it. All the best
  11. I've always played it : from the D to C sharp, B, A. then the F sharp G bit. But maybe I have been wrong all these years, will check out the record tomorrow.
  12. Don't you just love guitarists? The Humble Pie one is great, there's a nice bass bit in the middle, not a exactly a solo, but a good line to play. Good luck with it.
  13. They are all lovely. and by the way it's absolutely pouring down here
  14. Love em all. Especially the Alembic
  15. yes the Jazz is a cracker, but they are all very nice.
  16. There's some great 80's basslines on the Frankie Goes To Hollywood stuff too... Wasn't that the Blockheads rhythm unit
  17. He hardly even glances at the fret board. Dont think I can even look at my bass tonight
  18. Very nice mate. Don't believe your last sentence though. But it is one that I've said a lot
  19. I had a great time, although didn't stay long due to feeling so unwell. Well done to all the organisers. Thanks. Gary
  20. This is a nice bass. Pleasing to look at and good to play acoustically or amped up.
