  2. Bass Sleeve is a great product. I've used one for a good few years now and it's still as good as new.
  3. Love the dark, rich looking fretboard timber Michael, lovely.

I've had one for the last ten years or so and consider it a brilliant bit of kit. I haven't used the distortion regularly but when needed I felt that it was great.
  5. Is that the Stotfold one Tim? We've played that one a few times.
  6. I would be wary about leaving a van load of gear in a Travel Lodge car park. A fair few bands have learnt the hard way, doing just that.
  7. I would first check the frets. I suspect that there are a few high/unlevel ones. Almost every instrument that I get to work on, needs fret work.
  8. Perfectly understandable, really feel for you. Hope you get your enthusiasm back if that's what you need.
  9. Pete was a pleasure to deal with. Comms were great and an expert bit of packing/wrapping, ensured a safe delivery. Very happy to recommend.
  10. I've not had a listen but it's got to be better than Eric Cantona's new release
  11. Cheers Jack. Some of the Stax Northern Soul tunes are total crackers and real favourites of mine.
  12. Yes The Bass Centre was always a visit to savour.
  13. My first gig tonight since getting hit by covid a few weeks back. Standing is still proving a challenge. The Village Club. Stanstead Abbotts. Herts.
  14. No, if it's a high fret then it will need either filing down or reseating, if it has lifted.
  15. Struggling at the moment. Covid hit me hard about two weeks back. Still can't stand for more than a few minutes. Fortunately my band were able to get a dep to replace me for a couple of gigs last week. Next gig is the 16th of this month, so I'm hoping to be fit enough for that but not overly confident
  16. My GK head died mid gig at the weekend. Any recommended repairers in Herts area please?
  17. Sad to hear that Mick.
  18. Yep, have experienced that We thought Last Dance with Mary Jane would go down a storm.

    In Memoriam

Very sad. I dread looking at this thread.
  20. Exactly what I do in the majority of pub venues.
  21. Just a regular candle.
  22. I keep an old candle on my work bench and just pull the screw thread through it.
  23. Well done, you've made what looks like a great job of it.
  24. I'm not in London but if you are able to travel to Hoddesdon, Herts then drop me a message.
  25. I installed a set of G&L U.S. MFD SB1 pick ups in my my P bass build. No additional routing required to body or pickguard, they dropped right in and give me the sound that I loved in my SB1 but in a lighter weight instrument.
