1. Now I want a Jazz again Great job Discreet, impressive.
 2. Looking great. Ive been planning a tru oil finished pj build. I've got the pickups but still need to source everything else . Where did you get the body?
 3.
when we were looking for a drummer earlier this year, we thought we found one. Could talk the talk, lived fairly close and was available. He had some demo stuff up which sounded good as well. Reading further down he stated that because he has been out of playing live for a while he only owns cymbals and sticks, but (and this is the killer) would consider buying a full kit if any gigs came along. Consider????? You cant blame the website for that, although maybe the parents.
Got to love drummers.
 4.
Win-win, really. And if you keep it, we know where it is and there is always the possibility of it being available in future.
A bump.
 5. Don't think it's the fault of that particular site, more that there are an awful lot of delusional dreamers, who think they want to be in a band.
 6. Please refrain from being offensive to a Bass Chat member. I have deleted a few posts. Be warned, if any more offensive remarks are made, then moderator action will be taken and warnings added.
 7.
would new pots and loom help?
If the existing ones are the cheap, nasty, tiny little things, it will certainly be money well spent changing them.
 8. Time for a bump and a thanks for the all the positive comments.
Change your mind and keep it. My pic is me playing my 66 and it's just a brilliant bass. KEEP IT!!!!!!!!!!!
If it doesn't go soon, then I reckon I'll miss the opportunity for the one that I wanted to go for, in which case I will be keeping it. Not much of a hardship though
 9.
The celluloid tort looks not half bad for the price.
It does look good, I saw a couple of examples on basses that Nick Smith brought along to a Herts bash.
 10. I was impressed with their tort guards. Much closer to the proper vintage Fender stuff, than anything else that I've seen, with the exception of the Spitfire ones from the U.S.
 11.
Gary that is a wonderful looking Precision! It would look great next to the 66 Jazz that I bought from your very self but alas funds won't stretch at the moment. Great seller. GLWTS
Thanks for that Norm, good to hear that you still have the Jazz.
That really is stunning, Gary. Am very glad my Mum & Dad had the sense to bring me into the world in 65 or I would be flogging my very soul to own this cracker.
Cheers Lozz.
 12. I've found that a more powerful iron is what is needed for soldering to back of pots. I had a 25 watter for years, it was fine for the lugs on pots but not so on the backs.
 13. I learnt from experience that the cheap ones aren't worth having, even as spares. If you can be bothered and have a multimeter, you could test for continuity. Or just send them back and like Grangur suggested, get on to OBBM.
 14.
It wasn't an offer; that would be insane. I was asking if it's for sale as I am still interested.
I was referring to earlier posts not yours.
 15. Well, I've now purchased another vintage P bass, so this is definitely up for sale. I'm not looking for trades at present. My all original 1966 Precision, including its original case, which just like the bass, is in great condition. The finish looks great, there is of course some wear and crazing just as you would expect but the colour remains vibrant. All hardware functions perfectly. Electrics work flawlessly. Solder and wiring is all original, nothing has been tampered with. Frets are very good still and the neck is lovely. Weight is about 8lb 12 oz. Width at nut 43 mm. Fretboard radius is 7.25. Plenty of pics down below, can always email more. Price is £4850. Now £4750. For a while, I'm dropping the price to £4,500. For an all original, in this condition, I think it represents very good value, particularly when comparing with dealer prices. Collection much preferred, I'm in Herts. Happy to discuss posting but only if insured and with a trusted courier service. Please note this is NOT included within my price. Payment, cash or bank transfer. Pay Pal if the buyer is willing to cover the fees.
 16. That does look rather lovely. Enjoy your NBD
