1. I learnt from experience that the cheap ones aren't worth having, even as spares. If you can be bothered and have a multimeter, you could test for continuity. Or just send them back and like Grangur suggested, get on to OBBM.
2.
It wasn't an offer; that would be insane. I was asking if it's for sale as I am still interested.
I was referring to earlier posts not yours.
3. Please keep trade offers to private message only.
4. Well, I've now purchased another vintage P bass, so this is definitely up for sale. I'm not looking for trades at present. My all original 1966 Precision, including its original case, which just like the bass, is in great condition. The finish looks great, there is of course some wear and crazing just as you would expect but the colour remains vibrant. All hardware functions perfectly. Electrics work flawlessly. Solder and wiring is all original, nothing has been tampered with. Frets are very good still and the neck is lovely. Weight is about 8lb 12 oz. Width at nut 43 mm. Fretboard radius is 7.25. Plenty of pics down below, can always email more. Price is £4850. Now £4750. For a while, I'm dropping the price to £4,500. For an all original, in this condition, I think it represents very good value, particularly when comparing with dealer prices. Collection much preferred, I'm in Herts. Happy to discuss posting but only if insured and with a trusted courier service. Please note this is NOT included within my price. Payment, cash or bank transfer. Pay Pal if the buyer is willing to cover the fees.
5. That does look rather lovely. Enjoy your NBD
6.
These strats are lovely... have a free bump!
Appreciated and time for another bump
7. Second time Geoff and I have had dealings, this time me buying from him. Just like last time, nice and easy from start to finish. Very rapid delivery and the item was exactly as described. Still very happy to recommend.
8. Yes we are on to it. Thanks.
9.
'North of the Isle of Wight, South of Keswick' is perhaps a bit vague to someone (i.e. me) who has a friend who might be interested...
You're quite right it is a bit vague. I really thought that the location was stated in the ad. It should have been but this time I failed to include it. Anyway it's Hoddesdon. Herts. Original post has now been edited.
10.
Y'know, I almost prefer the days when Eden manuals used to talk about the "magic smoke". It was easier to understand, and more consistent.
I don't need to or particularly want to understand. Let Alex do his thing and if I want it, I'll hand over the dosh and just enjoy.
11. Any replacement nut is going to need some fettling, certainly with respect to the string slots. I like the Graphtec nuts. Nothing wrong with brass, other than a little more difficult to file the slots.
12. Hope you get sorted
13.
Here's one of my faves, 100% stock, very fine condition, 1961 Custom Colour Olympic White, stack knob Jazz. Comes with case, mutes, and all the original case candy, stack knob paperwork, even a spare set of unused strings! http://
Just fallen in love with Jazz basses all over again
14.
Thank you sir, Do you have anybody in mind that could perform such genius? I live in Swindon. Kind regards,
I don't know anyone in that neck of the woods, sorry. Check out the pinned post about BC'ers willing to help out.
15. What Ped said. The truss rod unless well out of kilter, won't have much bearing on that part of the neck. Assuming that the nut is ok and you have the correct relief in the neck, then it might well be fret wear. Quite often a graduated leveling is required down that end or it maybe as simple as just one or two slightly higher frets.
16.
Now that is a really nice looking Strat - have a bump on me .
A thanks type bump
17. My daughter had one of those at around the same sort of weight, had to sell in the end, as even with a comfort strap it was just too heavy. Sounded great though with a set of wizards.
