1. A pleasure to deal with, thanks Andy. Happy to recommend.
2. No problems with Ash, contacted me, paid immediately and great comms throughout. Recommended.
3. I suspect that you've been fed a whole lot of buck passing rubbish there.
4. I get to work on a fair few school instruments and have been impressed with the level of relicing Not so keen on the assorted crud and gunge that I have to remove from the fret boards though
5. 45-105 for me. Always has been and probably not going to change now
6. String Tree and screw from a Fender P bass £5. Posted It looks black in the photo but is chrome.
7. Taken from a Fender P bass, will of course fit Jazz, Tele, Strat etc. £ 7.50 posted.
8.
Sound quality at these big events is always crap. Plus, I suspect the soundguys don't put all that much effort into mixing the bands, as the average punter at at event of over 100,000 people doesn't really care about the sound quality.
You'd think though that at that level, only people who knew what they were doing and took pride in their work would be used.
9. A very impressive sounding set of P bass pick ups, built by Martin Herrick. Link to details here: https://www.herrickp...cts/split-p-65- They've not had much use, so other than a bit of a mark on one of the covers, presumably caused by over enthusiastic screw driver use, they are in great condition. I used them with a Northern Soul/Mod band last week and they reproduced the sixties P bass sound extremely well. These don't come up used, for sale very often, so I've decided to go with pricing the set at about two thirds of the new price. £60 collected from my place in Herts. Add £3.90 for postage. Cash on collection. Bank Transfer. Pay Pal if you are happy to cover the fees. 10. Fender Bridge and screws, condition is excellent. £12 collected from my place in Herts. Add another £2.90 for post.
11. Yesterday played a charity gig to raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital for kids. The idea only came about a few days back and the plan was for a mix of members from the bands of Hoddesdon, Herts. It all went amazingly well, change overs were quick mostly due to an excellent job by the sound man Jack, who is usually on guitar for Defunkt. The bands were pretty much put together on the day. Most of the band mates I was with, I met for the first time as we walked on to the stage area. Anyway, it all went well, I got to play a whole lot of different tunes with the local musicians who I've enjoyed listening to over the years. My Barefaced/Galien Kruger rig was used through out, so it was great for me to hear how it sounded out front. Pleased to say it sounded mighty fine and handled all the different basses brilliantly. More importantly well over £2000 was raised for the charity.
12. When I set up P basses, whether my own or for customer's, I will initially set the pick up with a gap of 3.6 mm under the E and 2.4 mm under the G, this is with the relevant string pressed down at the last fret and then measuring between the bottom of the string and the top of the pole piece. I find this to be a good start and generally achieves even volume across the strings. If I'm doing the set up for a very hard hitting plectrum user then I sometimes take the pick ups down a little more but for most, the measurements up above work just fine.
13. Great service, very impressive.
14.
Do you stretch your strings in? I restring the day of gigs and as long as you stretch them in properly you won't have an issue
Agreed. I tend not to restring on gig day out of choice but when I have, it's all been good.
15. Drew was a pleasure to deal with, paid when he said he would and great comms throughout.
16. I'm dropping the price to £160 plus postage. It's a great neck with perfect fret work and lovely grain, for that reason I won't be dropping the price any further, if it doesn't sell at this price, then I'll keep it for a future project. Fender Precision neck in absolutely first class, as new condition. Some lovely grain on show, which can hopefully be seen in the photos. Taken from a 2012 Mexican Standard P bass, that I recently purchased for the body, to use on another project. Neck is date stamped 3rd August 2011. Radius is 9.5". Width at nut is approx. 41 mm. Frets are perfect and comfortable to play. Price is [s]£175[/s] £160 collected from my place in Herts. If posting is required please add £16 for overnight courier. Cash on collection. Bank Transfer. Pay Pal if you cover the fees. 17. Thirteen hole black/white/black guard, from a 2012 Mexican P bass. Slightly road worn with the usual plectrum playing marks but no damage or cracks. Back is shielded. £20 posted. Bank Transfer or Pay Pal if you cover the fees.
