1. Another social club gig, left me feeling a bit fed up with it all really
2. I did one last week, if it had been a job I was charging for, it would have been around £30
3. It sounds rather lovely.
4. Better stop hanging around here then mate and get cracking. Congrats, well done and good luck.
5. Loois like you've done a great job there, like it.
6. Yes I'm a G&L fan too. My gigging bass is an old 80s SB1. Will look forward to seeing the pics.
7. I've been hankering after an LB100 for a while now. Are you generally happy with it?
8. Nice one, hope you enjoy. Like you, I've recently found myself in guitar territory and it's a whole new and ever expanding GAS inducing nightmare.
9. I haven't played a Ric in years but yesterday I was working on one, giving it a set up and new strings. Once I had finished, couldn't resist running through a few CS bass lines, Long Distance Runaround, Starship Trooper and Perpetual Change. I had fun
10. We play pubs fairly regularly and don't play much in the way of Classic Rock. For tonight's rehearsal though, I need to learn Black Dog, Rock n Roll and Whole Lotta Love. We go with much more Disco, Soul and Pop as a rule. Sometimes I think about joining up with another band for when DefunkT are not busy but just about every ad I look at for players of my vintage, are for Classic Rock or even worse, guitar widdlers wanting to crank out Hendrix, Clapton, Gallagher etc at weekly rehearsals but to never actually gig.
11. I've had this problem a couple of times, the cure has been to spin the output socket around slightly so that it doesn't touch the foil.

Pics are pretty good considering the circumstances
13. Good find, that looks lovely
14. Meant to also say, very nice, enjoy.
15. Love a Fender Tele. I seem to have aquired a couple of late.
I really like the look of these, really nice guitar.
It really is. Even though I'm not very good on the guitar, I have to pick this up and play it every day.
Bravewood s-type with Brazilian slab board. Best strat I have played, owned for 10 years or so.
Love it, what a looker
18. Unlined for me but then I am only playing fretless at home for my own enjoyment. If I was going to be gigging anytime soon on fretless, I would need lines and very obvious ones at that
19. This has to be one of the most surprising requests on Bass Chat yet Good luck, hope you get some help. Morris dancers unnerve me somewhat, so I'm out
20.
Gary, thanks, that's very reassuring. I think an Epiphone is likely as they come up often close to me, just haven't sussed all the different spec levels yet.
Just check the fret ends and also look out for high frets. Meant to say earlier, the electrics are where they make some obvious cost cutting, the selector switch being particularly prone to failure. Not a difficult job to replace but none the less, something to be aware of. Is the guitar shop in Ventnor still in business?
21. I've worked on a few Epiphone's and haven't yet encountered a bad one. A bit of fret levelling seems to be required, other than that a decent set up and they are very playable.
