1. We play pubs fairly regularly and don't play much in the way of Classic Rock. For tonight's rehearsal though, I need to learn Black Dog, Rock n Roll and Whole Lotta Love. We go with much more Disco, Soul and Pop as a rule. Sometimes I think about joining up with another band for when DefunkT are not busy but just about every ad I look at for players of my vintage, are for Classic Rock or even worse, guitar widdlers wanting to crank out Hendrix, Clapton, Gallagher etc at weekly rehearsals but to never actually gig.
  2. I've had this problem a couple of times, the cure has been to spin the output socket around slightly so that it doesn't touch the foil.

Pics are pretty good considering the circumstances
  4. Good find, that looks lovely
  5. Meant to also say, very nice, enjoy.
I really like the look of these, really nice guitar.
It really is. Even though I'm not very good on the guitar, I have to pick this up and play it every day.
Bravewood s-type with Brazilian slab board. Best strat I have played, owned for 10 years or so.
Love it, what a looker
  9. Unlined for me but then I am only playing fretless at home for my own enjoyment. If I was going to be gigging anytime soon on fretless, I would need lines and very obvious ones at that
  10. This has to be one of the most surprising requests on Bass Chat yet Good luck, hope you get some help. Morris dancers unnerve me somewhat, so I'm out
  11.
Gary, thanks, that's very reassuring. I think an Epiphone is likely as they come up often close to me, just haven't sussed all the different spec levels yet.
Just check the fret ends and also look out for high frets. Meant to say earlier, the electrics are where they make some obvious cost cutting, the selector switch being particularly prone to failure. Not a difficult job to replace but none the less, something to be aware of. Is the guitar shop in Ventnor still in business?
  12. I've worked on a few Epiphone's and haven't yet encountered a bad one. A bit of fret levelling seems to be required, other than that a decent set up and they are very playable.
  13. At home I'm playing fretless more than fretted and really enjoying it these days.
  14.
each to his own.. But then he's local to me, and not to you, so perhaps we have a different viewpoint...
What I meant was, I don't want to have to persevere with a business, nowt to do with location/distance. Also not aimed at BD, just a general observation.
  15.
I suggest perseverance..
Not top of my list when I want to purchase from a business.
  16. Have you played the Jazz through a gigging rig or just a little practice amp?
  17.
Hmm, I seem to have double posted some how. I only have one HB Jazz for sale, can one of the mods do me a favour and delete a double please? Ta!
Sorted.
  18. It's time for me to replace my vintage multimeter with something up to date and digital. I'm not looking for top of the range as it's not something I use every day. But I do like to buy decent quality that is reliable and user friendly. Recommendations would be much appreciated.
  19.
I think it helps to know how you think you are going to use it. Some will quantise the loop length so they stay in time with a tempo, others (Ditto)don't, so it's a lot harder to get the end of the loop spot on to a tempo "grid". With practice it does get a bit better, but I often find the little nudge in tempo at the end of a loop can be off-putting. *disclaimer* I've only ever used the Ditto. The actual sound quality is good though, and is true bypass, so won't impair your tone when not active.

This one is amazing. https://musicsquare....tar-effect.html 30min for this price is just great. I can recommend You also this https://www.sweetwat...ail/DittoLooper
Thanks for the posts, I'm checking out the reccomendations and doing some research.
