[center]New guitar incoming tomorrow, so this rather fine entry level Yamaha is up for sale.[/center] [center]It played well enough when I got it but due to protruding saddles screws, it was very uncomfortable on the strumming hand. The bridge pick up didn’t function and the controls were noisy. Due to a few high frets and a poorly set up nut, it wasn’t possible to get a decent low action.[/center] [center]I carried out the following works:[/center] [center]Fully shielded the body cavities, with conductive copper foil.[/center] [center]Swapped out the pick ups and controls, for a set from a 112 Pacifica.[/center] [center]Levelled, crowned and polished the frets.[/center] [center]Set up and refitted the nut.[/center] [center]Rounded the finger board edges.[/center] [center]Cleaned and oiled the fret board.[/center] [center]Installed replacement saddle screws of the correct length.[/center] [center]Fitted new D’Addario EXL 110 strings.[/center] [center]I wasn’t keen on the white, single ply guard, so although not an essential job, I also installed a new 3 ply black pickguard and back plate and fitted replacement chrome volume and tone knobs.[/center] [center]It now sounds and feels much better to play and is certainly giggable. The overall condition is very good but not immaculate, as can be seen in the photos it has polished up well enough though. There are a few dings and signs of wear to the paintwork but it is structurally good. The neck and headstock are very clean. All the controls and hardware function perfectly.[/center] [center]I don’t have a case for the guitar, so collection would be preferred.[/center] [center]Looking for what I think is a very reasonable £ 95, collected from my place in Herts.[/center] [center]If postage is required, please contact me to make the arrangements. £75 or nearest offer. I'm going to persevere with an unlined neck, so this is up for sale. A decent quality lined fretless neck, taken from a Squier Vintage Modified P bass. With tuners and string tree. Maple neck with an Ebonol fretboard. 9.5 radius. Condition is good but not immaculate. A previous owner was not careful enough when filing the nut slots and managed to mark the finish behind the nut. Not serious damage but an annoyance, fortunately once the strings are on, it doesn't really show. It has obviously worn roundwound strings in the past, which have left some marks in the Ebonol but again they are not so obvious once the strings are in place. The photos show everything clearly enough. The black mark on the neck is not damage but a stain/blemish in the timber. Headstock is all good and the back of the neck has no dinks or other damage.
