Gigged my old SB1 on Friday night, it really is one crackingly good gigging bass.
2. For me, some finishes look ok with age related wear and dings, Olympic white for example. Metallic or pearl sort of paint job has to look perfect. I'm careful with all of mine, although probably not precious about it
3. Another weekend bump
4. Withdrawn. I'm playing guitar a bit more these days, so I'm keeping this. It is even more special now, as it has become vintage during the time that it has been advertised on BC. None of you can have it now, it's all mine.
5.
I'm not understanding some of these posts. So the drummer drops a stick, has a brain fart and looses the beat or stops to scratch his bum in the middle of a number and you follow with the resulting cock-up? That is the worst thing any of you can do. If one band member makes a mistake the rest of the band carries the number until that player gets back on track. It isn't a problem if one of the players, even the drummer, stops playing for a bar or 2 while getting their bearings, but the train wreck of everyone trying to follow a mistake is not what should be happening.
Have to agree with this, anything else has the potential to cause a wreck.
6. A make me a close offer bump (by pm)
7. Doesn't it look good with that colour fascia. Also the lights
8. Really impressive job Rich, well done, you've really given it a new lease of life.
9. Yes, Kiogon is yer man First rate product and always speedily delivered.
10. I can vouch for that. It is a lovely P bass, one of the very good examples from the seventies.
11. It's a still here bump
12. Have you tried changing strings? Sorry if that sounds an insultingly strange thing to say, not meant that way, just that I had the same on a fretless a while back. One spot that I was getting a buzz, drove me mad, tried all the usual tweaks and adjustments. Then I just decided one day on a string change and there it was gone On checking there was a little flaw/burr on the underside of the old string.
13. Another weekend, another bump for the lovely Dingwall.
14. Finally, I understand, thanks Trevor
15. It depends on the radius of the fretboard but I tend to go with about 2.4 mm from the top of the 17th fret to the underside of the E string and 2 mm on the G.
16. Very impressive and authentic looking work Rick. Looks spectacular.
