1. Have you tried changing strings? Sorry if that sounds an insultingly strange thing to say, not meant that way, just that I had the same on a fretless a while back. One spot that I was getting a buzz, drove me mad, tried all the usual tweaks and adjustments. Then I just decided one day on a string change and there it was gone On checking there was a little flaw/burr on the underside of the old string.
2. Another weekend, another bump for the lovely Dingwall.
3. It depends on the radius of the fretboard but I tend to go with about 2.4 mm from the top of the 17th fret to the underside of the E string and 2 mm on the G.
4. Very impressive and authentic looking work Rick. Looks spectacular.
5. I regularly use the volume knob, it doesn't just do the obvious controlling of volume.
6. Never played an Octave Mando but have been intrigued by them for a while now. I can't imagine that one at that price point would be decent quality but who knows? With their return policy being rather good, it might be worth a try.
7. There was a time when I subscribed but these days I only buy a copy for a holiday or hospital read
8. Thanks for all the interest and comments, it's now sold and soon heading off to its new home.
9. Could well be a shielding problem. If the buzz goes away when you touch the strings etc. then the bridge earth is probably good. Make sure it's not something in the room, dimmer switches are notorious for this.
10. My home built gigging bass. Fender Jap 62 reissue neck. Squier body. G&L MFD pick ups. Babicz bridge. Lightweight and an aggressive, growly beast of a bass.
11. Typical, I've not been able to gig due to health problems and that night is my first one back with the band. Have a good one
