1. I was attempting to sort the link but failed, probably because I'm using iPad at the moment
2. Having very little neck relief helps with that fretless sound.
3. Moved from incorrect place to maybe the right place, couldn't decide between OT or General but it's music related. I'm not whistling Mustang Sally
4. Bit of a result I would have thought.
5. My seventies P basses have all had the patent numbers, under the the Fender part of the decal. So I would investigate closely if the numbers weren't present. Like Gareth said pics would be good.
6. I wouldn't expect a serial number on the headstock Check out some headstock pics, if you can't find any I have photos of ones that I've owned, that I can mail to you.
7.
Another JG bass based blog up on the site today... Enjoy... http://walbasshistor...ry-mk-1-jg.html
I did enjoy, as always.
8. Surprised to see that you consider the quarter pounds to not have punch. HAving said that I've not tried them in a Jazz but I have fitted them to a couple of P basses and they were very punchy. The best sounding Jazz that I've owned, was a Fender 66 with original pups. So I would happily recommend those. I have fitted Wizard pups to a couple of VM Jazzes and they were a worthwhile upgrade.
9. Jack's point is very valid. I would further add that if most of your playing will be in the sitting position, then a Precision is definitely preferable to a Jazz. Best of luck with it and hope it helps in your recovery.

Incoming!

That looks a real cracker Ped
11. My current set up Not one of my better photos but you get the idea
12. I've played some loud gigs over the years, with very loud guitarists an drummers, using a variety of amps. As yet I've never had any of those amps anywhere near the maximum volume settings. No one would say that I'm a quiet, in the back ground sort of player. Just can't imagine how horrible your band set up must sound. Think I would have long ago walked.
13.
and I didn't even phone UPS.....
Good man.
14.
Daily Mail?
No, a card from my wife, she gave it to me on the day I was awaiting delivery of a Barefaced cab. How I chuckled and then the cab arrived damaged
15. Now sold and heading off across the channel to a very decent chap.
16. I've just had a wow moment That looks to be a classy product. Might have to put one of these on my Christmas list. Bugger, I said the C word and it's only August. Top quality review and pics as well.
17.
Lovely bass that
A thank you and a bump
18.
What did you switch to Gary?
I went with Barefaced, although not 2 10's. I've got a Big Baby and a Super Compact. As yet I've not gigged the Compact but the BB has been impressive.
19.
Markbass Traveller 102P cabs come up second hand for £250ish each. The sound great and are the lightest 210 on the market, well worth considering
I loved my MB 2 x 10's and would still be using them, had I not needed to go even lighter in weight.
