1. Just to remind BC'ers, I also have a 400, that I'm testing out. Give me a shout if you would like to check it out. The one I have has some slight cosmetic damage, so Leszek is willing to let it go for a discounted price.
 2.
It would be quite feasible to select an excellent setlist of, for example, obscure and for most people unknown northern soul tunes and have an audience drinking and dancing and happy. No need to tell the audience 'covers' or 'original' or anything.
You wouldn't get away with it in Wigan though
 3.
Maybe not the best demo ever done but could give an idea. There's no doubt it's yours: https://youtu.be/-eLXaLvB2K4
Yes, that's mine, thanks
I have played this very bass and it's superb. It's also so light it practically floats away. When I first picked it up it nearly shot it through the ceiling plaster. I was expecting it to be a little heavier. Don't be put off by the fanned frets - it took me exactly one minute to get used to them. They are actually easier to play than non-fanned. Which is the whole point of them, I'm guessing. Lovely even balance across the strings too. A proper hand-made bass for silly money. Great, now I've talked myself into Dingwall GAS.
Thanks Mark, I forgot to mention in my ad, about how easy it is to play with the fanned fret system.
 4. Bass Chatter OBBM is the man for quality cable. Made me a rather lovely instrument cable with right angle plug one end and straight on the other.
 5.
Well that'll teach me to make an attempt at humour based on my pretty much non-existent theoretical knowledge. I couldn't find the "amazing stuff, but waaay over my head" smiley that I needed. Thread moved, as suggested.
It made me chuckle Rich, on what had up to that point, been a chuckle free day
 6.
I think it`s quite refreshing to see a musician who`s not completely hung up on gear and gassing for the next new thing.
Same here
Chris Squire was pretty vague about his stuff.
Examples of a couple musicians, not hung up on kit and who were more interested in just playing, than necessarily what they were playing with. They obviously didn't/don't hang about on Bass Forums
 7. Welcome to the Forum. The Herts bass bash, which you've just missed, is hosted annually in Hatfield, so you won't have far to travel. Good luck with your search for a Spector, lovely instruments that regularly pop up in the For Sale Forum.
 8. Good luck with it Tim, hope it is a success and enjoyable.
 9.
4 pages for this! Wow! It's basic and has been answered countless times in this thread, people playing other people's songs are covering it. If most of the repertoire is covers then they are a cover band. People writting their own songs or having songriters creating material specificaly for them are doing originals. Simple! Nothing to see here, move along and close the thread...
The thread may well have become tedious for some Bass Chatters but that is not sufficient justification for us to close it down. The suggestion to move along should be heeded for those that are bored with it
 10. NOW £2,295 2013 Dingwall Super P/J four string. A high spec four stringer, which Sheldon Dingwall informed me was built especially for one of the Namm shows. BGM reviewed this very bass a while back and were very enthusiastic and complimentary about just about every aspect of it. Their one slight criticism was the Star Trek style logo string tree and the black control knobs, both features that I think look and feel great. Anyway, everything about this bass is top quality, the workmanship is excellent and the fittings/hardware top class. A couple of years back, I really needed a lightweight gigging bass and I fancied something modern, Dingwall just fitted the bill and this came up at the right time. It's a lovely instrument, great to gig with and is very versatile and comfortable to play. It has been a pleasure to own but a couple of years down the line, I realise that it's a bit wasted on me and I'm just happier with my vintage Fender, Wal and G&L basses. The specification: Weight 7lb 4oz. Special lightweight, Swamp Ash Body. (£100 option when new) See through blonde finish. Birds eye maple fret board. This looks almost new, is substantially cheaper and is available immediately. Price is £[s]2,395[/s] Now £ 2,295 Collected from my place in Herts. If you require this to be posted, we can discuss the options. Please keep in mind though, that it is not in a hard case and although I can pack it very well, it will not be covered by insurance and the risk will be with the buyer. Alternatively, I could purchase a basic hard case in order to be able arrange insured postage. 11. The Twentieth Anniversary for the Rock in the Priory and the first time for DefunkT. We are on at about 4 p.m. Any Bass Chatters going to be there, either playing or watching? https://www.facebook.com/events/566094473561338/?active_tab=highlights https://www.facebook.com/rockinthepriory/
 12.
Me too - used mine in a very big hall last night, no FOH, and didn`t need to turn up louder or adjust eq due to the size of the room. Gigging later on so two gigs in two nights for my trusty Super12T.
Have a good one Lozz We are over in Hatfield tonight, so fairly local for us. Handbox amp and BF
 13.
That's not the impression I got. Before I got my first BF cab, and not knowing anything about the history of the company whatsoever, I would come across BF-related threads and I just could not understand the bahaviour of the participants. And by that I mean people seeming hellbent on jumping onto any BF thread to just be negative in a way that seemed... obsessive. It put me right off BF at first because it made me think that perhaps there was a reason behind that behaviour. Eventually the day came when I could try them for myself and... I still don't get that compulsive behaviour of some. I really don't. If there's any excessive lashing out from BF 'fans' (which is not pretty either) sometimes, it was not them who started it Of course you disagree. But my own observations are different from what you said, so I want to leave this message here
Same here. Anyway, whatever, I'm very much looking forward to gigging my BF tonight
 14.
Peerless Retromatic B2 ... not quite white but ivory ...
What a cool looking instrument,
 15. How brilliant, what a great experience to have had and more to look forward to.
 16. Come on then, get on with it I'm looking forward to seeing this one take shape.
 17. A great bass for £300 but it will be a total bargain for someone at £200 Almost tempted to buy it back
 18. Had a word with the boss man at HandBox and he has informed me that the R400 has more than 1 Mohm input impedance and is good for piezzo pick ups.
 19.
You can't go ramming old, frail deaf people with an Ashdown cab. It's not the done thing.
Quite right, you need to use a Barefaced it's got more heft
 20. I will be in contact with the owner tomorrow, let me know if you haven't had a reply and I will find out for you.
 21. What about the Handbox amps? WOT and I both have threads about them in this section of the forum. Lovely straight forward eq section. Here's a pic
 22. You've gone all "arty and black and white " Lovely looking cab.
 23. The Jazz has now left the building
