Hahahaa...I'm loving this thread...I can smell the burning tooth enamel from here... Well done Alex, and a serious rig there...I'd still want a roadie to carry those heads, mind...has Timmy never heard of the advantages of Class D?
Oh, Class D, just what we need added to this thread, good work Muzz

Heft - from heavy amp, or from lightweight amp & pedals?
gary mac replied to Lozz196's topic in Amps and Cabs
A fair few of the venues around these parts, have the dreaded sound limiters fitted. Heft is a definite disadvantage in said venues -
I bet every single one of who gigs has felt that way after certain gigs. Most likely, driving home from the next one, you will be feeling the pleasing buzz of a gig well played.
I think I was just tired, hadn't slept well the two previous nights.
That would almost certainly be the problem. Lack of sleep messes with the ability to concentrate, big time.

gary mac replied to discreet's topic in Amps and Cabs
Another brilliantly informative and useful review, to be added to the Bass Chat archives. Good work Mr. Discreet -

Everything points to this being a cracking piece of kit WOT. Great to read of your good experience with it. I'm due to road test one of these amps myself and very much looking forward to it. It should be arriving at my place this week, hopefully in time for me to take it along to the Herts Bash, so that BC'ers can give it the once over.

Very lovely. G&L pups do take some getting used, worth persevering with though. I've found that the mixing of the tone/volume controls on G&L instruments really gets a pleasing end result. Have to admit to not being experienced with the LB100 but I've had and gigged a few SB1's and SB2's.

Great purchase. Worse case you could sell the parts for more than you've laid out but I bet, with a bit of fettling, it will be a decent enough player.
I expect that all the best parking will have gone...
Yep, my stretch limo takes a fair bit of the available space
Is anybody planning on bringing anything to sell?? Need to know how much space to allocate for this. So far it seems like it's me selling an amp and Sibob selling his Shuker 5 string (which I thought he'd sold) - I'm sure others (Gary Mac's vintage Fender?) will have gear they'd like to rehome.
Hadn't thought about bringing my 63 P but happy to if anyone is interested. Maybe I'll just bring it anyway, there must be BC'ers who even if not in the market for one, would like to at least see and/or play a pre CBS instrument.

That is one seriously cool looking rig

Am I the only one that gets annoyed by adverts for fake Fenders

So, if you want it couriered it will not be insured and is therefore at the buyers risk. To discuss posting or for any other questions, just message me and I’ll be back to you as soon as poss. Has anyone compared a BF BB2 with a Vanderkley 115MN6?
gary mac replied to dave_bass5's topic in Amps and Cabs
So we need different basses for different cabs now, no wonder people say going light weight is expensive!
I nearly responded to this but have decided that I've much better things to do, like well erm, anything really. -
Thanks Rob - must visit one of these days. I see that no matter how big the new room, it's already filled to capacity with basses!
and what a pleasing sight that is

Very kind of you to state us as a good example Fran. Now then, do I risk pointing my band mates at this thread?
