1. It's going to be a fabbo sounding and looking instrument Nick was round at my gaff over the weekend with his Enfield bass. Those pups are amazing, the combinations almost endless. Loved it. Mind you, I can only really cope with a volume and tone knob these days
2. Nick is indeed a fine chap and I will be making the trip up to Peterborough at some point.
3.
There had to be 1 didn't there. Phur! Anyone knows you need 3 to play the O2!
DefunkT might be getting one very soon.
4.
Still more fun than a "which bass is best for metal?" post though right?
Certainly. The Moderating team would have been immediately called in from all corners of the globe, in order to discuss the suitability of you as a Bass Chat member.
5. Only two of them are on our current set list: Come Together and occasionally, Gimme all your Lovin'. Quite a few have been in the past. Hopefully they will be staying there
6. Don't over think it. Plug in, play and enjoy
7. Damn it, every time I read one of Discreet's reviews, it ends up costing me dosh
8.
I miss your MB Fusion, too...
I love my Fusion 500
9. Vintage Paiste 101 Hi Hat Cymbals 14inch/ 35.5cm. German made, I think these date from the 70’s but can’t confirm. In excellent condition, no damage, just some old tape residue that can be seen in the photos. £35 collected, I'm in Herts. Post will be around £10
10. I've used a Shroeder 2x12" and that could be heard loud and clear, very punchy I would say. Currently using a 1x12" plus 2x10" markbass rig, which also seems to work well. What about adding another MB 1x12" to your current set up?
11.
The MB200 is 7.5" wide and a vertical One10 is 11.5" wide, so 2" space either side. There are loads amps that would 'fit', including anything from the G-K MB range (200, 500, 800 + 500 and 800 Fusions), both Aguilar Tone Hammers, Mesa D800, Peavey MiniMax, any of the MarkBass Little Mark series (and others)... Demeter Bass 400, Minnie 800D... and on and on. If you place the One10 horizontally (say, on a stand) you get another 3.5" and this opens the possible range of amps you could use without overhang quite considerably. Ampeg PF500, FP800, Ashdown MAG 420, RM800... Demeter VTBP-M-800D! And so on.
Mr Discreet, you are a man with way too much time on your hands. Just go play it and enjoy
12. For me it has to be black. Here's my latest one, it started life with a white guard but to me, looks so much better now.
13. Set of Squier Affinity P bass Pick ups. Great condition, as can be seen in the pics down below. Just £ [s]20.00[/s] just £15.00 posted
14.
+1. There's a right way and a wrong way to make a 4x10, 6x10 or 8x10. Alex does it the right way. AFAIK at this point he's the only one who does. Personally I'd rather the superior dispersion characteristics of a vertically stacked pair of 2x10. But if the particular form factor of a 4x10 is what you want then it's the only 4x10 worth considering IMO.
This should really be the final word. It is for me My thanks to Bill.
