1.
(mind you - 1973 - not exactly a classic fender year is it... I'd have been more tempted by a PEB Stingray but I was born 3 years too early)
I wouldn't take too much notice of the oft quoted, by internet experts, nonsense about 70's Fenders. I'm not saying that there weren't some shoddy ones and some heavy ones but honestly, there were plenty of really fine ones. I know that Discreet has mentioned that his one is a cracker and I also have a 74 that is one very lovely instrument.
2. Bump for what I think is a good price for this collection Maybe I will take a nearest offer.
3.
What was the bridge originally on?
It was on a Squier P bass. I think it is the same model that would be on a Fender.
4. Another view of the redness
5. This is one of the most impressive modifications to ever grace this forum. I love it and think that a modifier of the year award should be heading to Discreet towers.
6. Really looking forward to seeing this one brought back to life.
7.
I thought that classic Fenders sold quickly... I expected this to have sold ages ago...have a bump
Thanks Mick. If anyone comes around to check it out and play it, I'm sure it will be leaving with them. Maybe the discs in the guard are putting some off. They don't bother me as the guard is still nice and flat with no breaks and the 60's tort must be the best ever produced
Someone buy this please! I'm getting gaseous rumblings!
Give in to the rumblings Mr Discreet. This bass would just look and sound so perfect in a Country & Western band, don't you know?
8. I've been doing gig bag research over the last few days and will probably be going for this one. Mid price but with a good level of padding (25mm) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fender-Metro-Bass-Gig-Black/dp/B009DRUNDA?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0
9. Now sold, will be sad to see it go, a very lovely bass.
10. Shame, I'm after a gig bag but we it's just too far to travel
11.
If this comes to the Herts bash it might have to come home with me!
If it hasn't sold by then, I'll be happy to bring it along. Meanwhile, pm's answered and so time for a bump.
12. My first bass and rig.
13. Every single issue, including a cover mount C.D. and two supplements. One of the supplements is a guide to strings and the other concerns getting started on bass. The C.D. features tracks by: Guy Pratt, Mo Foster, Tony Levin , Martin Taylor and Doug Wimbish. Also includes Equipment demos and numerous tutorials. The collection is in good to very good condition. No missing pages. C.D. is perfect and unplayed. The magazine was well regarded at the time and features a varied mix of tuition, gear demos, reviews and interviews. Too many to list but plenty of in depth and thorough articles on the history of Fender, Rickenbaker, Gibson, Wal etc. £[s]50[/s] Now just £40 collected from my place in Herts. If you want it delivered, then due to the weight (approx 13 k) the charge will be an extra £16 for an overnight courier. Bank Transfer or if collecting, cash upon collection.
14. Messages replied to. I have decided to now not offer delivery and will be editing my original post. Apologies for any disappointment caused.
15. Always happy to buy from or sell to Mark. Great to deal with, a real gent.
