1. A few years back my daughter and I both had VM Jazzes. Identical to look at but very different in weight, hers being much heavier than mine.
2.
You are also welcome to borrow my BB2 for a gig or two if you want to try it. Smaller than the Supertwin though, but for places like pubs (ive seen the video Fran shot) i think it would also work really well.
Very kind Dave, thanks
3.
You're always welcome to try my One10 if that's any help.
Thanks for the offer Rich. May well give you a call.
4. Thanks for all the responses, much appreciated.
5. I've been toying with the idea of a change of cab again, don't really need to but I've been fancying a Barefaced for a while now. Anyway, Alex at Barefaced has recommended the Super Twin and having read the specification, I really like that recommendation. So if I can sell a couple of instruments, I shall probably place an order. I'm just interested to hear from any Super Twin owners on their thoughts/experiences with this model. Please don't turn this into a Barefaced bashing, I'd hate to have to lock my own thread
6.
I was a mere few months old when this was made - looks better than I do for our age...GLWTS
Tim for another bump It would be good if someone were to buy this soonish, as I still play it everyday and each time think it is a lovely thing and maybe I should keep it and go for a re-fin.
7. What a pleasing photo to look at
8.
Pay attention at the back there.........
Will try harder but I suspect it's not going to happen really.
9. I didn't read it properly, I had the Shuttle 6 and not the max.
10. Listening now on my proper speakers. Like the production and of course the very fine bass playing. Good work Paul.
11. It's a toe curling moment for me, whether I'm a part of the audience or as a band member. I just hate it.
12. I gigged with a Shuttle 6 for a good few years and have recently converted to a GK Fusion 500. I was perfectly happy with the Shuttle, it was always loud enough with plenty of head room to spare. I was always able to eq it to the room and I could always be heard, loud and clear. It was lovely and articulate. It could do very clean or down and gritty very convincingly. I had no reason to change it, so why did I? I think really, it was just down to a combination of fancying a change, spending too much time on BC and hearing good things said about the GK. Having said that, I have no regrets about buying the GK, it is a brilliant amp. The two channels has been a very useful addition and the eq is extremely user friendly. The valve pre amp is great, does generate a fair bit of heat though, so the powerful fan was a bit of a surprise the first time I heard it. Obviously, not a problem in a gigging situation but loud at lounge level. My only concern initially was the lack of a clipping light on the GK but in reality, it's not a problem. I would be perfectly happy gigging with either of these amps.
13. Welcome back, hope you enjoy yourself and don't get tempted to clear off again
14. Well done Paul, I'll have a proper listen in the morning, via my headphones
15. Wood glue and dowels/cocktail sticks/matches. Blob of glue in the hole. Tap in your wood of choice. Leave for a while, to let the glue set. (A few hours). Trim off excess timber. Refit your plate. Enjoy and bask in the glory of a job well done.
16. We are all different of course and what's versatile to me is quite likely not versatile to others. A case being the P bass, I happen to think it is very versatile. With a tweak of the volume and tone controls on the bass, or maybe an adjustment on the amps eq. it gives all the versatility I need for Rock, Soul, Disco/Dance, Country, Pop, Indie etc. Alright I have never tried it for Metal
17. A price dropping bump £150 off.
