1.
Pay attention at the back there.........
Will try harder but I suspect it's not going to happen really.
2. I didn't read it properly, I had the Shuttle 6 and not the max.
3. Listening now on my proper speakers. Like the production and of course the very fine bass playing. Good work Paul.
4. It's a toe curling moment for me, whether I'm a part of the audience or as a band member. I just hate it.
5. I gigged with a Shuttle 6 for a good few years and have recently converted to a GK Fusion 500. I was perfectly happy with the Shuttle, it was always loud enough with plenty of head room to spare. I was always able to eq it to the room and I could always be heard, loud and clear. It was lovely and articulate. It could do very clean or down and gritty very convincingly. I had no reason to change it, so why did I? I think really, it was just down to a combination of fancying a change, spending too much time on BC and hearing good things said about the GK. Having said that, I have no regrets about buying the GK, it is a brilliant amp. The two channels has been a very useful addition and the eq is extremely user friendly. The valve pre amp is great, does generate a fair bit of heat though, so the powerful fan was a bit of a surprise the first time I heard it. Obviously, not a problem in a gigging situation but loud at lounge level. My only concern initially was the lack of a clipping light on the GK but in reality, it's not a problem. I would be perfectly happy gigging with either of these amps.
6. Welcome back, hope you enjoy yourself and don't get tempted to clear off again
7. Well done Paul, I'll have a proper listen in the morning, via my headphones
8. Wood glue and dowels/cocktail sticks/matches. Blob of glue in the hole. Tap in your wood of choice. Leave for a while, to let the glue set. (A few hours). Trim off excess timber. Refit your plate. Enjoy and bask in the glory of a job well done.
9. We are all different of course and what's versatile to me is quite likely not versatile to others. A case being the P bass, I happen to think it is very versatile. With a tweak of the volume and tone controls on the bass, or maybe an adjustment on the amps eq. it gives all the versatility I need for Rock, Soul, Disco/Dance, Country, Pop, Indie etc. Alright I have never tried it for Metal
10. A price dropping bump £150 off.
11. It's hard graft but yes, it can be done. You might be disappointed if it's not an attractive piece(s) of timber under that finish though.
12.
silly question, but is that normal chrome, or black chrome effect, kinda hard to tell with these old eyes!
It's not your eyes, just not the best of photos. It is a normal chrome one.
13.
Hey, I wished you 'Many Happy Returns'! After you told me it was your birthday...
You did and it made me feel very special Anyway time for another bump.
14. Not a gig but yesterday DefunkT auditioned for the Ware in Herts, Rock in the Priory festival. I actually felt nervous Considering that we hadn't gigged since New Year's Eve, we did good Don't know if it was good enough though.
15. That's good of them, it all goes towards making it a really enjoyable day. Well done Mick. Drop me a pm if you want any help with this years event.
16.
I'm nervous about showing this because its such an iconic line but its my effort. I think I have the basic techniques there well enough. Not trying to make excuses but obviously there are fluffs and my timing isn't properly solid again yet following a decade off bass. I'm working hard to get back. On a good day I can pull it off cleanly - this wasn't one of them as you can see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6Gufm4vx-I
pretty impressive effort I would say, no need to feel nervous about showing us that.
