1.
I left 'my' band in the end as the co-founder of 10years was just getting worse. He was convinced it was everyone else. If the audience are complaining and you're not building a following because of him then you either get rid of him or you leave. Or you just put up with being in a band that's going nowhere. 'My' band is still going but they beg for gigs and don't get repeat bookings. They seem to be happy. .
I wonder if that's the band I auditioned for a few years back in Buntingford. It was quite a weird audition, with the drummer throwing up in a bin behind his kit. I didn't get the gig.
2. I love the Doobies from that era, What Were Once Vices is still one of my all time faves and still gets played regularly. The track Road Angel is just such a fine example of a great rhythm unit. As far as recommendations for other country/rock type bands. 3.
Ohh... If only my guts would allow me to gig such an amp...
Same here.
4. Matchsticks will work but you would be better off with a more durable wood. I've used cocktail sticks and also proper little timber dowels (from hardware store)/ Put some wood glue in to the hole, push in your choice of wood. Leave alone for a while to let the glue dry. Trim off any excess wood. Refit the strap button.

I must stop myself from looking at Mark's for sale ads Once again the perfect gent, we did the deal, the item was in the post the same day and received here the very next morning. Great comms as always. Great packaging. Great piece of kit. All round...........erm Great
6. If he really won't listen to reason and at this stage you don't want to go down the sacking him route, I would suggest recording a rehearsal. Maybe if he hears it for himself, he will feel differently.
7.
Oh the cynicism! I've no idea where the idea a Basschat member could be fickle in their choice of instrument could have possibly come from. People will be coming up with a neat little acronym to describe the process next like maybe EPD for Equipment Procurement Disorder or something like that.
Love it If you decide to start up an EPD help group, count me in.
8. That's a depressing sight I always get a bit fidgety and nervous when mrs mac wields the Henry Hoover near my old Fenders. Don't know anyone in your neck of the woods, sorry.
9. That Mrs Painy is most definitely a good sort. Nice set up, will look forward to the proper review.
10.
Used PayPal twice this afternoon with no issues. That's not to say they didn't go tits-up after my purchases, of course. Good luck.
It was you, you git, you broke it
11. Is it sorted John? Was planning on buying a bass related thing this evening.
12. That looks so right, although a little precarious
13. Dave Gilmour quite often played bass on Floyd recordings.
14. Not something I've thought about and to date have strung up three, maybe four times with Elixirs. No damage to report.
15.
OP wants trebley/clanky and not one reply has suggested "get a Ric". What's wrong with this place these days
We're afraid of Mr Ric suing our arses, for suggesting using one of his axes on a Fratellis number.
16.
Before thread is closed, could someone advise me if this is good for recording stuff on to sound cloud ? ( using rca or USB jack sockets) Congratulations on the sale
Might be worth posting that question up in the relevant forum Ray
17. I've played this on a few deps and got the sound pretty much spot on. No pedals, just one of my Fenders or G&L's. Always with rounds and a pick.
18.
Saturday was our annual fundraiser for The Alzheimer's Society - a cause very close to our band. This is the 4th consecutive year we've held it, and the 4th consecutive sell-out of the 500-capacity Belfast Empire. An absolutely brilliant crowd made this one the best and most memorable gig yet, and while the final sums aren't yet tallied, it looks like we're on course to raise around another £6000 for the charity. This also takes us over the £20000 mark for the running total. Here's to next year!
Brilliant job Sharkboy
19. I enjoy the fact that you're a regular GAS sufferer, it means plenty of opportunities to read your top quality reviews Love the retro look of these, must give one a try out some time soon.
20. I've read and enjoyed this book, the next person who wants it, should pm me with address details.
