1. I've been wondering the same, given that they are generally held in such high esteem.
2. I always use the same method as Twincam, makes easy work of it. Having said that, I've not encountered them glued in, just normally a tight fit.
3. Having trouble sleeping Nick or is just the hedonistic, rock 'n' roll life style?
4. I like seeing pics of kit, old or new, with or without a review. It's one of the reasons I started visiting Bass Chat all those years back. Will look forward to a full review though
5. Gold seems somehow, more right for that era but Tort is just such a lovely looking material, particularly the 60's variety.
6.
I agree, there is a gorgeous '72 Precision for sale here for less than £2K, I know it's not a 60's bass, but it's complete, and will only become more valuable.
Yes, feeling very tempted to go for this one myself but my bass fund is at present depleted. It is a great example at a very good price but I suppose if the OP wants a Jazz, then it's not going to fit the bill.
7.
Hi there, did you pass the book on? Norm
On its way to Normski, well it will be soon.
8. I haven't seen one of those before. Looks great and the same colour, I think, as my P Deluxe from that era.
9. Price aside, too many things would put me off buying this, not least, the fact that you had to discover for yourself, the route under the p/g.
10. I think Si is a lying scoundrel, he originally claimed the weight was 8.9 but the scales clearly show 8.91 I'm out, never will I trust this man again.
11. Treat yourself to a pack of micro mesh sheets. You can then rub down with a very fine grade one , that won't leave any visible scratches but will leave a super silky smooth surface.
12. I was once told, "now you've got that nice new, loud amp, you really must play the right notes"
13.
Ha no. I'm playing with them now. He's a really good drummer and an all round nice guy. He remembers that night. This was a band a long time ago now.
Felt really sorry for him that night.
14.
I left 'my' band in the end as the co-founder of 10years was just getting worse. He was convinced it was everyone else. If the audience are complaining and you're not building a following because of him then you either get rid of him or you leave. Or you just put up with being in a band that's going nowhere. 'My' band is still going but they beg for gigs and don't get repeat bookings. They seem to be happy. .
I wonder if that's the band I auditioned for a few years back in Buntingford. It was quite a weird audition, with the drummer throwing up in a bin behind his kit. I didn't get the gig.
15. I love the Doobies from that era, What Were Once Vices is still one of my all time faves and still gets played regularly. The track Road Angel is just such a fine example of a great rhythm unit. As far as recommendations for other country/rock type bands. 16.
Ohh... If only my guts would allow me to gig such an amp...
Same here.
17. Matchsticks will work but you would be better off with a more durable wood. I've used cocktail sticks and also proper little timber dowels (from hardware store)/ Put some wood glue in to the hole, push in your choice of wood. Leave alone for a while to let the glue dry. Trim off any excess wood. Refit the strap button.

I must stop myself from looking at Mark's for sale ads Once again the perfect gent, we did the deal, the item was in the post the same day and received here the very next morning. Great comms as always. Great packaging. Great piece of kit. All round...........erm Great
19. If he really won't listen to reason and at this stage you don't want to go down the sacking him route, I would suggest recording a rehearsal. Maybe if he hears it for himself, he will feel differently.
20.
Oh the cynicism! I've no idea where the idea a Basschat member could be fickle in their choice of instrument could have possibly come from. People will be coming up with a neat little acronym to describe the process next like maybe EPD for Equipment Procurement Disorder or something like that.
Love it If you decide to start up an EPD help group, count me in.
