2. Just been listening to some Yes this afternoon and playing along on my fretless, have to say it was challenging
3. Lozz had some sort of case up for sale a few days back.
4. You did well there it would seem. I think the same cab on the GAK site is £333
5. Really sorry to hear of this, give us some more details Mike. Area stolen from, distinguishing marks etc.
6.
Oh yus I'm still thinking very strongly of pulling them. Anyway, back to the question instead of the mick taking
Yep, sorry for the derailment.
7. This must be a first on BC. Cabs being sold cos the wife said they smell
8. Great to hear of kind gestures like this.
9.
I've discovered I need a fretless with a low B for my new project... I'm having to choose which songs to play fretless on based on which key they are in rather than which song I actually want to play fretless on... There is but one solution... I've emailed Paul about building me a fretless sixer
At least you should have plenty of time to save up
10. I've just completed another transaction with Andy, this time face to face. It was a real pleasure to meet up and I'm so happy that my bass has gone to such an enthusiastic new owner. Just like last time, this was totally hassle free from start to finish. Happy to recommend Stoney as a fine chap to deal with.
11. Not one I would bother with these days. Back in 73/74 I saw Purple with Nazareth supporting, at the Rainbow in Finsbury Park. Great gig, although on the way home, some skinheads took exception to my yellow loon pants and knocked me and my mate about a bit
12. A house is not a home without a Fender
13.
That's very flamboyant .
Given that most aspects of my life lack any flamboyancy, a string change is a must, once in a while
14.
I`ve just fitted a set of Pro Steel EPS160s to my Precision.First impressions are good. Seem a bit higher tension than my regular Rotosound rounds but a small adjustment on the truss rod has sorted that. The main difference is that instead of 45, 65, 80, 105 the strings are now 50, 70, 85, 105 and they seem to be more "together" tonally if that makes sense? Previously the D & G seemed overly twangy against the E & A. Went with them as many have said they are bright sounding, which is what I need for my band. My regular sound is dead Roto rounds but as said, the band needs some top end. Plus although Rotos start out twangy, they die really quickly and again many have said that Pro Steels are long lasting. Of course it`s in the mix that counts but at the moment, I like. Plus, Low End Bee recommends them on the other thread, and having heard his Precision strung with them, well that was recommendation enough.
Loz I had a set of Pro Steels on my main gigging bass for best part of a year. I only changed them then because I felt I ought to
15. G&L SB2 would be my choice. There is a pic of mine in the gear porn forum, G&L thread, if you want to see how a sunburst one looks.
16. Another Bass Chatter that I'm very happy to recommend. Friendly, reliable, trustworthy and a pleasure to deal with.
17. Not the longest at two mins but one I always enjoy
18. If its any help to you starts on D minor and then to A7(I think) Half a step up, when it gets to "She clutched him to her bosom"
19. Can't help you with the TAB but this is rather good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfCAejc35GQ
20.
I'm a big G&L fan, but in fairnes he was trying to flog them at that point. G&L GAS is terrible, I'd like an L1505 in red burst, an MJ5 in turquoise sparkle, an LB100 in vintage white, a JB2 in natural etc.........
He was but I still think I agree with him. That's not to say I don't love a proper old vintage Fender of course
