I wanted to develop a Stick style around bass in 4ths, so I use a mirrored 4ths tuning which might be of interest to bass players. I have info on my website, here is an article on the Stick site as well:

While the strings are "upside down" compared to conventional bass, it wasn't as profound of a mental adjustment as I though it would be, and I think the reverse direction greatly helps with chordal and accompaniment possibilities.
