Auditions - why are some musicians so damned rude to others?
you have bass/drums/keys... start your own band!
This! get a guitarist and away you go. Some bands/people just are not worth bothering with. Why not put it behind you and start your own band. -
HEADPHONE AMP/PRACTICE AMP ADVISE.
clarkpegasus4001 replied to phatkat's topic in General Discussion
I use a Pod UX2 which is connected to my laptop (running XP). This has plenty of guitar and bass amp simulations plus an array of effects. I can just noodle through headphones or play a cd on the laptop and play along. I am not sure how much they are now, I got mine for £130. I also use this for recording with Cubase recording software. The beauty of this is that the Pod weighs next to nothing. If you specifically want an amp, what about one of those little Roland Cubes? i'm sure they have an headphone socket. -
Quite like 10CC actually. Also Right Next Time by Gerry Rafferty and Lonely Boy by Andrew Gold

Try Nottingham, they all seem to turn into Tesco's -
I havn't got a clue with mine. I have a 75 Rick and a 74 Jazz bass, The Rick was from North Carolina but I don't know the playing history of either. Not basses but I did have an MXR distortion+ pedal that was owned by Robert Quine (of Lou Reed fame) I sold it to my mate who still has it. I also had a 67 Telecaster that was apparently owned by a guitarist from the Banshees, which had been messed about with which I sold ages ago, but it has been the best playing guitar i've ever had, superb neck.

Hello and welcome, share your experiences with us -
I think £350 is about spot on for one of those but you may have might drop the price a bit because of the market and they are not really that sort after. They are good guitars I used to have a double cut-away, flame top, two humbuckered guitar with coil taps some years ago I think it was a GS2.

Hi all. I have decided to sell my Tecamp Puma 350 head and my matching Tecamp L115 1X15 cab. I only bought these items recently. These are high quality items made in Germany. Both items are in perfect working order. The amp is like new and the cab is the same except for a very tiny piece on the back (which will probably glue down). Both items together would be around £1500 new plus postage, I am looking for [s]£850.00[/s] [s]£825.00[/s] [s]£800.00 [/s] £650.00 for the pair! THIS IS THE FINAL PRICE DROP. I'll keep it if it does not sell at this stupid low price. Collection preferred I live about 5 minutes from junction 26 M1 Nottingham, or I will now post for FREE in the UK only. No shipping overseas sorry. Any trial is fine. The amp is 350watts at 4ohms /250watts 8ohms and weighs only 4.2kg or (5.3lbs) and it's very powerful. The cab is light at 22kg or (49lbs) and it is the 4ohm version, the power is 400watts and comes with tweeter switching system. This is a great rig and i'm only selling because I wish to go back to using old valve stuff. More pix on request if you send me your email address. I've just got back from a gig at The Olympic, Draycott, Derbyshire. There wasn't all that many in but we played well and we went down really well again, we got 2 encores. Even better, they have re-booked us already for Sat August 4th, always a good sign.

Is this really worth this much?
clarkpegasus4001 replied to clarkpegasus4001's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Well it's had two offers yet there's another on Ebay UK with a buy it now for £1,195 and not sold. Here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Watkins-Dominator-Vintage-/350549197693?pt=UK_MusicalInstr_Amplifiers_RL&hash=item519e5c437d I guess my point is that there's a hell of a lot of valve amps out there, this is very old, low powered (17watts), are they really worth that much money? maybe they are then? -

I had an extremely rare one of these on black and biscuit covering which i eventually sold for £500 to a guy in Holland because few folk believed it had it's original tolex covering.......but it WAS completely original.

Tecamp....I have a Tecamp Puma 350 head and i've had no volume issues at any gig i've played at. It's small and incredibly lightweight at just 2.4kg (5.3lbs). Running it at 4 ohms (like I do) you get 350w and if you use 8ohms it's 250w. Secondhand prices are easily within your budget. They sound excellent as well. Here's mine.......
