1.
"certainly better than some of the dodgy pre-EB, early 80s instruments with wonky necks".
Is that right? I had never heard that said about the Stingray before. and I had been toying with the idea of buying an early MM but that's quite worrying. MattM's 88 looks the biz!
2. If you already have a Jazz then i'd deffo go for a Precision. There's always a good old Tokai to consider?
3. Bother! I wanted that as well, it's lucky I havn't sold my Tecamp yet.
4. i have one or two songs from that Pleasure album Future Now downloaded to my phone, and a few tracks i've loaded on to cd. I was brought to the attention of that band through his site actually! BC'r Huw Foster playing along to the track "Universal" (cheers Huw). I love it....... I havn't heard of the band Delegation before, it sounds pretty good to me i'll have to investigate futher! stuff This has a great sounding bassline........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2-g23tzBEU&feature=related
5.
Well, its not in the top 50 so I guess not a good bass. Rickenbacker maybe?? Both are ungly and unbalanced (Hides under the table from 4000)
Wash your mouth out with soap!
6. As if i'm not broke enough! that's what being on this forum does for ya!
7. This is exactly what i'm after but after buying my Jazz bass, I will have to sell my Tecamp head and cab first
8.
Yep. I'm waiting patiently for your band to make it down to the smoke.
You might be having a loooooonnng wait! of course if someone stumps up some cash...........
9.
I've decided you should get switches like these
What a fantastic idea! Charic you are THE MAN! If only I had the inteligence to build one of these valve amps one of those switches would be a must have! I'd dearly love to build my own rig......
10.
One of the guys that made me want to play bass - Burke Shelley.
Ha, a man after my own heart obviously!
11. Nice to have you here Sallie, good luck with those lessons.
12. Welcome Greg, from another fellow Rick player
13.
Indeed. I just worked out that the pre-amp tubes have been in my Marshall since it left the factory. 39 years ago.
That does not suprise me at all. May I ask which model Marshall you have? is it a Marshall 100w?
14. Hi Terri welcome to the site. Great site by the way
15. This could be what i'm after. I have a Tecamp L115 but need to downsize a bit. Any pics?
16.
www.everyonehatesmecosihavealumpybodyandineedafriend.com ?
Tut tut!
17.
I don't hate 'em, I'm just not into 'em.
I meant in general on this site, not necessarily on this thread.
18.
I certainly don't hate them, it's just not something I can ever see myself owing.
That's fair enough, each to thier own I say. funnily enough, i've been playing on the Jazz today, I am struggling a bit with the neck! It seems fat compared to the Rick.
19. Strangly enough, I own an old Rick and Jazz. Don't look too hot welded together though do they? There seems to be a lot of Rick haters on this site, I can't understand why?
20. Welcome to Basschat Ryan.... and nice vids.
21. He was a great guitar player, I still have the first montrose album on cd. My mate went to see one of his bands called Gamma years ago, he was mightily impressed. RIP Ronnie, another legend goes. I was watching these this morning....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tk52nGxF-jc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHmqWRY-OdA
22. I went for option 5. I rarely practise , we hardly have time to rehearse , but we do play live. The other two members in the band are pro musicians though and in another band so they play a lot.
23. Jake, I really enjoyed that! Great playing by all, but hey what a fantastic singer that young lady is.
