1. Sort of Parker Fly-ish, but a bit too weird for me.
2. Yes, it's me who is buying it! thanks Tony! I am a very lucky man. Oh, and it is a 1973 Jazz bass not 1974. Pots also indicate 1973 serial no' 502*** indicates 1973. http://home.provide....der.html#serial
3. Wow that really is nice and welcome to Basschat.......What a first post! PM sent.
4. It looks right to me. The neck dates it to 1962 and the headstock logo is correct for 1962. If he get's to keep it he's a very lucky guy, assuming it's not a hoax!
5. A friend of mine had one of these with his Les Paul back in the day. He dropped it down the stairs, ran down in panic, took out the guitar expecting it to be trashed, but......NOTHING! So I can vouch for these. Good luck with the sale mate.
6. I think the word "genius" comes to mind.
7. So sorry to hear about this, let's hope that it gets returned.
8. That's sad to hear Clarky. It's always gutting when this sort of thing happens, especially when you put your hear and soul (and cash!) into it. Take a breather, i'm sure something else is waiting around the corner for you.......maybe even better than before.
9. Secondhand Laney VC30 or a newer alternative, a Vox Nightrain, Francis Dunnery (ex - It Bites uses one of those).
10. The guitarist and drummer in this band are also in my band In For The Kill.........(Dan the bass player is also a mate, and he is a fellow Basschatter! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqX1f7IJ3wo&feature=related
11.
Any of your band mates uploaded a youtube vid or soundcloud track that your proud of or just makes you smile? Here's my guitarist
Hey Charic, that reminds me of a guitarist who works at my work-place. His band is called Merciless Terror.......here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqiYqfraRwI
12. We usually play locally anyway so the drive home isn't a chore for me. I'll normally put the old cd's on and it's quite nice and relaxing. I'm normally alone but very occasionally i'll have a mate with me, never the band mates as they have their own cars. I just hate taking all the gear back upstairs afterwards and packing it all away. It takes an age for me to get to sleep usually. I wouldn't change a thing!
13. The colour reminds me of Autumnglo. It's not my fave colour by any means but it's still a Ricky! and i've seen far worse.
14. Another fan of lemon oil here but I can't use it on my Ricky bass of course. I currently use Planet Waves.
15. I use EzDrummer for recording it's very good at what it does.
16. Nobody famous i'm afraid. A mate from school, Kevin Brown was playing sax in The Beautiful South. Not musical, but Leyton Orient football manager Russell Slade was my footie team captain at school.
17.
One of the bad ones, and not in a way that I ever expected. We play a once-a-month slot at a local pub and have built up a healthy crowd. Last night I had to make the announcement that we were a duo, rather than a trio, because the drummer's wife had died two weeks ago. She was 32 and collapsed and died at home, alone, due to a blood clot. Totally out of the blue. Craig, the drummer, is devastated, as you would expect. Particularly as they'd only been married 18 months. She always came to see us, and we dedicated the gig to her.
That is really sad, sorry to hear that Len.
18.
Thank you bluejay, I'm taking a look at it, it seems to be interesting. Are you from London? Clark are you italian?
No, but it seems i might have American / Italian decendants though! Someone at work had started teaching me some Italian but he left and unforunately I didn't continue. Oh, and it's Tony actually! I thought it would be nice to greet you in your own language to make you feel at home here.......It looks like you are fluent in English anyway. Welcome!
19.
I actually quite like that.
Me too.....but in NO WAY would I have altered a 4001CS
20.
"go mess up a normal Ric fine"
No it isn't !! go bug**er up a copy instead!
21. Go for it and good luck! Tell us all if you got it.
22. Hello and welcome to the UK Ciao e benvenuto nel Regno Unito
23. I purchased a superb Tecamp cab from Phil a while ago and I started a thread for him (not knowing this one existed) here it is.......... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/153501-feedback-for-born-2b-mild/page__fromsearch__1 Phil's a top bloke!
