SOLD....Fender USA Deluxe Jazz Bass in Leeds...SOLD
Riddler replied to tonewheelkev's topic in Basses For Sale
Morning all. I'm feeling a bit left out not being on this thread. Actually this is exactly what I'm looking for; top quality Jazz, active and in a perfect colour combo (OK a black or torty pick guard would be my preference but that’s being picky) Personally I hope this thread does make it to its first anniversary as my gig stash will be big enough to buy it by March! (That’s guaranteed to make someone buy it now!). Actually, I might start negotiations with the ‘Bag For Life’ for a GASsing loan over a nice lunch today so out of interest, how much would it cost to ship from Leeds to Brighton? (apologies if that’s been discussed already!) Cheers Graham -

Hi all Bit of a dumb question, but if I use both channels of my LMK together will it damage the amp? I'm thinking of using one channel clean and one with a distortion on the effects loop (pity I can't put the effects loop through channel 2 but nevermind) and sometimes I just need a boost of volume so was thinking I could kick in the 2nd channel with the foot switch. Any advice would be appreciated Cheers Graham
Well, I have a 3rd GS112 coming in from pbass67. I will power it with a Mesa Fathom (M6).
Just to add my two pennuth. I'm using an LMK with 1 x Markbass 2x10 and 1 x GS112. Only got a old P bass atm but hoping for a jazz soon. It's a brilliant sound, but a bit light on grunt but that's proabaly the P bass. I've tried the LMK with each cab seperatley and if I had to use only one cab it would be the GS112, the MB doesn't cut it at all. I'm thinking of selling the MB 2x10 for another GS112, what do you reckon?
Yes, weirdly enough to me, reason was I had to sell to clear some debts but luckily I have sold other items and I can keep hold of this. Well for now.
Hi Not wanting to barge in front of Magnolia or anything but I'd also be interested if this (or another similar Geddy Lee) comes up for sale. I like this particularly with the Black SP and Hipshot. and out of interest do these GL jazzes benefit from having a J-retro fitted or don't they need it? Happy New Year all Cheers Graham

Sorry about the delay in replying, Here's a pic of the tuner fitted. It is slightly shinier but only the Bass Doc would know that. I reckon it looks well tarnished. Thanks for your help all, especially the Doc. Bit more advice please. Should I have the bolt on the backof the tuner done up really tight or a bit looser, also should I put any oil on the gearing? As it's new string time I thought I'd service the tuners a bit. Cheers Again Graham.
Certainly is - looks it's age 'nicely'. It's definitely right for a 1969 since it doesn't have the 'R' in a circle after 'Fender' which I think came in around 1972/3. Cheers, H.
OK, you've got a deal. I'll PM with details. Cheers Graham
OK - my spares are going down fast - I've got what you need but I'm asking 'proper' money. £22 posted (nearest thing on E-bay is £45 although you do get the full machine head). Mine would be the backplate with it's key, retaining bolt and washer. Let me know if it's on.
Cheers, sounds like a plan, is the key nicley tarnished? want it all to match up.

Hi All I've got a 69 P bass thats all original but has a poorly A string machine head. I lost the 'cauliflower' many years ago when the hinges gave out on the original case and the bass dropped to the floor as if from some sort of magicians false bottom case. Anyway, it's never bothered me as I just use a coin to tune, and it never goes out of tune anyway, but recently I discovered the central screw on that tuner has disappeared. (see photos) Does anyone know where I could get either a similarly tarnished and original tuner or at least a suitable screw to prevent to gearing falling out! Thanks in advance for your help Graham

Hi All Not sure if this is mentioned anywhere else on BC but did anyone hear Colin Murray's Mid Week Mobile Disco last Wednesday (4th March)? It's a feature where he plays an hour of tunes with a common link. This week it was featuring tunes with decent bass lines Sorry it's a bit late but you can hear it for another 12 hours or so at this link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006wkx3 If you don't get to listen, here is the track listing: 23.00 Midweek Mobile Disco - Bass Lines George Baker Selection - 'Little Green Bag' (MCA) Andy C and Shimon - 'Body Rock' (Ram) The Strokes - 'Juicebox' (Rough Trade) Coal Chamber - 'Loco' (Roadrunner) Paul Simon - 'You Can Call Me Al' (Warner) Radiohead - 'The National Anthem' (Parlophone) Metallica - 'Anaesthetist (Pulling Teeth)' (Vertigo) Queen and David Bowie - 'Under Pressure' (EMI) Bomb The Bass - 'Bug Powder Dust' (Fourth and Broadway) The Pixies - 'Gigantic' (4AD) Red Hot Chili Peppers - 'Give It Away' (Warner) Dead Prez - 'Hip Hop' (Loud) Fleetwood Mac - 'The Chain' (Warner) Rage Against The Machine - 'Take The Power Back' (Epic) I'm sure we all have some comments to make I'll start the ball rolling by suggesting the list is nowhere near complete without these: Muse - Hysteria Yes - Roundabout

Eden Nemesis NC410 320W Combo - £250 for quick sale SOLD

Hi all Got some more gear to get rid of to finance some good stuff I've just bought of Colin from Basschat. This is a Eden Nemesis 4x10 320 watt combo sometimes called a NC410, sometimes an NC320. I bought it off Dougal (another Basschatter) last May and it's been brilliant but I've now gone for Markbass for ease of lifting. As you can see I buy and sell most of my stuff on Basschat as the prices are good and the people seem to be decent so I'd like to keep it in the BC family by offering it up for the price I paid for it which was £250, which I'm sure you'll agree is a bargain. I don't want to dither for too long as I owe my wife some cash for the Markbass :-( So I'll give it a few days here then try local press or eBay. I would suggest pick up or meet some mutually acceptable as it'd be expensive to ship. I'm near Brighton. I'm pretty sure it' s the same spec as this newer model http://www.eden-electronics.com/products/rsseries/rs410.aspx Below are some more pictures or view more here: http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/graham.riddl...ey=YtD9w0Tb0qc# Any questions please ask or PM. Thanks for looking Cheers Graham

Cheers Colin
Friendly, honest, straightforward and a real nice guy too. On time despite coming halfway aceross England via the M25 ! We did quite a complex deal very easily, and then had a great time exchanging experiences. Top class man, I cant recommend him too highly. Many thanks !

I had one of these, exactly the same which I sold on ebay a couple of years ago. And then regretted it! I have a feeling that this is the one! Oh if I wasn't skint!
I bought this last Feb from a chap near Southampton, but no reason why it couldn't have been yours before that. I bet basschat could trace the lineage of most basses in Britain if we put our mind to it. :-) Cheers Graham

Hi All Thinking of selling my Lakland 44-01 to finance an upgrade to Markbass gear. It's the same finsih as this one: http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/75971 Some photos here: http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/graham.riddl...ey=TlvWUUok9tA# Serial number is 03021483 which makes it either March 2002 or Feb 2003 (can't remember how it's read). Bought last year from ebay. (think the previous owner might be an BC'er now) it's in absolutely tip top condition and comes with a hard case (not and original Lakland case I'm afraid) What do you think? is £400 asking too much? Will accept less for trades for markbass gear (102P, STD104HR, LMII ideally) Thanks for looking Graham Pics added:
