  1. That's a blast from the past. I used to love sparks and saw them once in the seventies. Got a couple of albums in the loft too. Kimono my house and what's the other with r and r tied up in a speedboat ?
  2. I have previously played in a female fronted band and it certainly gave us an edge and she was also brilliant at getting gigs. It also gave us a whole new catalogue of material that we used to great effect ( blonde, cyndi lauper, skunk anansie, pink, hole etc )
  3. It's actually billed as the rock and blues festival so widens the music style a little. The night ash are playing they also have the zombies on so could be interesting.
  4. It just says Wishbone Ash so pretty sure I will be the Andy Powell version
  5. Noticed that Ash are on at Burnley blues festival May Day weekend so think we will have a run out as not seen them now for a few years. Nice to hear a few old songs played by some excellent musicians. Anyone else a fan ?
  6. Hi, got your pm and could be interested. Just need a guy to come this weekend and take away a drum kit I am selling first and would help if someone also wants my Yamaha 5 string advertised on the site.
  7. Also just prompted me about the film Local Hero, absolutely love the simplicity of the film and the perfect sound track. Of to visit another thread now.
  8. IMG]http://i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u657/tonybassplayer/image_zpsd7d67725.jpg[/IMG] Don't seem to be able to upload picture via the site so had to do it this way More pics if required
  9. Playing bass whilst Mark Knopfler is on the same stage !!!! I wouldn't be able to sleep, what a gig to get I have been predicting for years that Dire Straits could be the next big band for the re-form and world tour type of thing, heres hoping !!
  10. Bought it used a few years ago and just never really got in to playing a five string so could do with some cash at the moment so time to move it on Seems to play ok and looks fine with just a few minor marks on the body No gig bag or anything with it as its just kept on a stand in the spare room with my other basses Not sure how shipping would work so collection is better but happy to talk about it Based in Earby ( halfway between Colne and Skipton ) and travel back towards Bradford/Huddersfield every couple of weeks Looking for £120 ono. ( now £110 )
  11. Hi, I hear the phrase a lot but could you tell me what "scooped" means please.
  12. Yes if my fifteen year old daughter is anything to go by her Xmas list was very music orientated and she have me a list of about forty "songs" from a total of about eight artists. I wasn't going to download them as singles so researched them and bought her about six albums that best represented her wish list and explained its better to have the album then you can have it on you'd iPod and phone and still play the cd. When I was young playing the album in sequence was the way but sadly not now. When I think how many hidden gems I would have missed had I just plucked my initial favourites from an album had that facility been available back then.
  13. Mmmmmm had an urge for one of these for a while now.
  14. Then draft in a four piece brass section telling them its forty quid each and you have just made another eighty yourself lol
  15. Post Xmas sort out and sad to say but going to have to let go of my lovely Roland TD3 electronic drum kit ( the one with the nice mesh snare ) Ideally like to sell it for around £350 ish but could possibly be tempted with a swop for a nice bass amp or combo. I have a mark bass 15" cab at the moment so an LM111 or combo incorporating one would be ideal but open to offers. Pics will be uploaded later but just on way out. Cash either way possible if a suitable amp or combo suits.
  16. Having a rare NYE with my partner and three out of five of our kids and actually quite happy to be doing it. My band have a dep and playing quite locally but a bit of nice food and tv sat with the kids will do me tonight Previous NYE's have involved walking home absolutely freezing at 2 in the morning in basque and stockings but life moves on lol
  17. It's at www.gavincoulson.co.uk Or just google Gavin Coulson
