Due to work etc we have had very little rehearsal time recently but yesterday we had several hours together and semi nailed 5 new songs that we are going to play at tonight's gig !! It's always nice to put new material in but 5 in one go is a bit scary They are as follows Whitsnake, Here I Go Again Divynals, I Touch Myself ( looking forward to our sexy singer doing this ) Beverley Knight, Take a Piece of my Heart ( rocked up ) Hole, Celebrity Skin Wheatus, Teenage Dirtbag Wish me luck, it's going to be fun !! Bought this on a whim a few years ago when I had visions of setting up a home studio and it has had less than an hours home use ( honestly ) Box is slightly tatty from being moved from room to room but Pod Pro is in absolutely perfect condition Starting to have a clear out of all unused equipment as I really need to down size the house and making a huge effort to make it look better Pics to follow but thought I would post it now to judge the response Anyone interested ??

+ 1 anyone got a transcription of Christmas Wrapping ??

I have just used the compact for the last 10 or so gigs in the pretty loud rock band I play in I used it with my budget Behringer amp and it ever went over half way and it had tons of bottom end You will have no problems with it all on performance and portability Can't really see me ever wanting a "big loud stack" again as a good lightweight portable unit matched up ( when required ) to the PA is plenty for me Tony

hi jay, I think you pm'd the wrong person Tony

Bit of a trip for us but we tick all the boxes on the content front Check out the website at www.empressrockband.co.uk

Yes, I can see how applying the finish may be an issue, perhaps applying that small area before assembling the cab might work

Hi Alex I just think that by finishing the last two or three inches with the same exterior material would do the trick with minimal extra cost Tony

Hi, Yorks5stringer collected the Northern compact yesterday and he will be passing it on to B2BM next week so he can bring it up to the NE bass bash Review time I have had the compact for a few weeks now and done quite a few gigs with it mainly pub gigs with the rock band I play in, one large function ( all with bass bins with the pa ) and one with my old soul/funk band ( with vocal only pa ) I have really enjoyed my time with it and I am quite sad to see it go as it has done an excellent job at all the gigs. I fairness I tend to use the pa quite a bit for additional bass weight but both me and the drummer like to hear plenty of bass on stage as well and we have had no trouble hearing the compact with the amp on half. Confession time now. I have only been using the compact with my few years old Behringer amp so most of the tone has been pretty much straight forward rock bass but no doubt that a more sophisticated amp would add more tonal variety. Personally I don't tend to muck about with my sound too much and just like a nice thick bass sound that suits the songs we play. Hope the following is taken constructively I am not sure if the cab is "pre production" or as they all are but thought I should add these comments with regard to build/aesthetics etc The corner covers, although working well could do with enhancing ( I believe this issue has been addressed ) The finish inside the bottom ports seems quite poor and perhaps should match the exterior finish. The exterior is probably a love or hate thing. I wasn't keen at first but it grew on me and seems very robust and is definitely "cat friendly" or rather cat unfriendly as my cat has taken chunks out of my other cabs over the years but left this well alone. Personally I would like to see a little beading around the edge of the grill to make the finish better Like I said I hope these comments on the aesthetics are taken as intended. When you are spending this sort of money you want the full package and I think these minor issues would definitely enhance the saleability of the cab. The sonic performance and weight etc are excellent and it will definitely be on my shortlist when I eventually sell my house and have the money for a full upgrade Thank you for the use of the cab, it's been a delight to transport and play through Tony [attachment=36941:bfcab.jpg] [attachment=36942:bfcab2.jpg]

Great gig at our first time at the Thornhill Arms in Stanningley near Leeds Brilliant little pub with a very live music orientated landlord and clientele that lots of local bands enjoy playing Lots of good comments on facebook this morning from local musicians in the audience which is always nice to hear Full day of rehearsal to look forward to on Thursday with 7 new songs ( plus the xmas ones ) to sort then gigs Fri and Sat, lovely stuff !!

Great ideas and thanks for the prompt responses Always wanted to play Christmas Wrapping so need to get the mag today as the bass line sounds excellent

Hi, we have three pub gigs over the weekend before xmas and have decided that we need to add a few xmas songs but none of us really want to spend ages learning anything too complicated as we are also working on another 8 songs for the rock and function sets we do so they need to be quick fixes. We have already settled on Slades Merry Xmas Everybody but could do with another two or three that are easy for all the band to learn Any thoughts ??

Went on a business trip with Volkswagen to the factory in Wolfsburg about three years ago and after the business meeting we were taken to the old factory power station that had been stripped out of all the major machinery and converted in to some form of entertainment building and when combined with the use of some strategically placed lighting was quite a funky place. We went upstairs where a large stage had been built with some tasty gear set upon it that got me intrigued ( earlier on in the evening I was convinced that we were going to be subjected to a night of oompah bands and men wearing lederhosen !! ) A brilliant four piece jazz ensemble with an absolutely stunning female singer played for about forty minutes or so then their gear was moved off stage whilst a few more speeches were made. At this point the suspense was killing me as I could tell that the set up on stage was from a pro band as we were only a few feet away. The lights then dimmed and the band came on and it was Kool and the Gang !! They played for about an hour and a half and it was just hit after hit and they were just the perfect party band with some absolutely superb musicianship. Brilliant night and made the 2 day flying visit so memorable ( got to see the Scirocco when it was just the Iroc concept car as well...awesome )

Played the Crimea Tavern in Castleford last night and whilst it was not packed out we managed to keep a decent audience all night and had a cracking gig. The venue is an average sized pub but they have a cracking in house pa ( two huge bass bins and four mackie srm450 tops with a 32 channel mixer ) complete with their own sound engineer who gave us plenty of time for a very thorough sound check and kept it loud and pumping all night. Great gig and looking forward to returning in 2010
