What a heck of a disappointment that must have been for you I clicked on the link looking forward to hearing a glowing review of how good a gig it was Hope you manage to resolve the situation with the singer and keep the band together
i'll try to be there tomorrow. We are there next friday & I'm wondering if the house PA is useable.
Got to be honest and say i didn't actually notice a house pa so it must be relatively small

Gigging myself that night or would have called in. PS Not much of a drinker myself but apparently the beer is very good with lots of different real ales available PPS Have a great gig

Played it last Friday and we had a cracking night with a great crowd who really seemed to enjoy the music ( approx 20 ladies on a hen night called in just as we were starting our second set....marvellous ) Not quite in the best part of Leeds but load in etc is the easiest I have ever done with barely 4 paces from car to stage area back door ( had to move car after load in a bit down the street as parking space quite restricted so we only had space down the side of pub to park 3 cars ) The owners also own the Blues Bar in Harrogate so always chance of getting gigs there if you go down well Tony

I thought the Foo Fighters playing Times Like These was excellent

Hi, we have the icolour/isolution lighting kit with the foot controller linked to the main controller and seem to somehow have lost the lead between the two It looks to be 5 pin and similar in size to the 3 pin dmx ones that go out to the lights, could it be a 5 pin dmx lead that I need ?? Had a look on the net etc and it all looks a little confusing Any help would be much appreciated Tony

Just about to email Gnasher about the northern cab and noticed he has had a change of plan Whose next for the Northern cab ?? Tony
-
Apologies for not sending a review in yet from last weekend's gig with the "northern" compact but I have had such a hectic week at work I am gigging tonight and Friday and will post my review and pics over the weekend. Tony PS Gnasher1993, I work in Wakefield so collection/delivery etc should work well

By co-incidence I have also just got the urge to purchase an electric upright as I can see the potential for adding low volume daytime sessions in to our wedding repertoire. Think I will just dip my toes in to the budget end at first and the name Stagg seems to keep cropping up Any thoughts ??

Please put me on the list, many thanks Tony -
Just gone a couple of pages back and "this name is taken" expressed an interest in trying it out and is based in York so that would take it 30 miles further North ( and I could get it there after my gigs next weekend ) Hope this helps Tony

Meeting Rik at Leeds PMT at 3.00 tomorrow to collect the northern cab then straight on to Oulton Hall for a big charity function so will report back on Sunday am. Two pub gigs next Thursday and Friday then I will arrange to move it on to the next on the list ( from memory I believe it is WOT but be nice if someone north of Leeds and south of Newcastle wanted to try it first to spread the distance a little )
-
I could collect this week if that is ok with everyone else on the list as I am aware that I kind of jumped in the list only a few weeks ago. I have a corporate function next Saturday then two rock pub gigs the week after so chance to check it out in different circumstances Tony

Had similar frustrations in the past but not at the moment with my current band as everyone seems to working hard on "making it happen" ( twice in the last month the singer has got us 6 gigs in a day of ringing round/calling in pubs etc !! ) Needs to be a team effort or it's time to walk BUT before you do you need to tell them your frustrations as you just never know, it may just do the trick. A clear division of labour is required with very defined responsibilities for each person. Still slightly puzzled though with the drummer without a kit situation

How's the cab sounding Rik ?

We have an old oak dining room suite that quite frankly I find bloody awful and intend replacing. My partner reckons she will get a few quid on ebay selling it which I doubt but it got me thinking The depth of the table is very similiar to a bass ( if not thicker ) and I wondered if oak was a good material to perhaps form the basis of a little home grown bass. Any thoughts guys ?? Tony

We always open our first set with Weak, it's a very powerful song and goes down really well

Hi Pepe and welcome to Basschat What a stunning array of bass guitars...I bet they sound awesome !! Tony

Just to see if it worked

Absolute cracker at the Cross Keys in Morley last night with Empress which was one of three bands I was playing in but now seems to have taken over all my time. We only formed a few months ago but we are getting rave reviews and branching out in to functions as well. Playing again tonight at the Woolpack in Almondbury at 4.30 so looking forward to doing it all again Note to self.....must change my avatar
Interesting that so many people don't consider heads to be part of the backline (at least for purposes of kit sharing). I've never come across this before and I've got to admit that if a venue or band said they were providing backline I'd assume this meant both the amp and cab.
+1 In my limited experience of multiple bands playing ( charity gigs etc ) and being told "backline is provided" I have always found it to be that drums, amps, cabs etc are all provided with most drummers ( but not all ) taking their own snare, kick pedal, sticks and cymbals to give them that "familiar" feel Tony

Hi, yes he is aware and he is trying to get in touch with Rik to make sure he is ok with this If all goes well I should have a decent review of the cab in a rock pub at decent levels from Saturday and then a little less volume at a smaller pub on the Sunday. Both gigs will be played in conjunction with the bass going through the pa I will ensure pics are taken as well Tony
