Thanks for the responses
I will look in to the youtube idea as it seems like a format everyone uses
Yes, Col did a brilliant job on the audio side for a very very reasonable price. The cd recordings are very good.

We recently compiled a "homemade" promo video
I have uploaded a low res copy to the website but on my low performing broadband it seems to take too long to upload
Please have a look and let me know how it loads and what you think
Many thanks

Whenever anyone mentions the Hootenanny I have beautiful flashbacks to two years ago and the sexy sax player's legs from the Zutons !!! Steve Harley was right ....... come up and see me and make me smile
Yep, gigging at the Harlow in Harrogate. With a very experienced dep drummer (our regular drummer has a gig with his other band). Looking forward to it.
Played there a few weeks ago, nice easy load in through the back door, easy set up area and plenty of room to move. Nice and friendly audience who were up for a dance as well so you should have a good gig. What's the name of your band ?? -
I am sure these will sell out quickly but if you decide to do some in black put me down for an XL
I think the style and logo look very good but on my body black is definitely best -
At rehearsal last night I tried a multi purpose adaptor that I have ( lots of different voltages and connectors ) and it works fine so I will call in Maplins and buy another ( you can never have enough of these adaptors !! )

Not out gigging tonight and not happy about being in a function band when half the band want the summer off and the other half don't want to gig over xmas
Think a change is on the way in 2009 !! -
Could someone please advise me just what are the primary functions/reasons for using a DI box ?? I just plug my bass in to my amp and when we live record or play through a bigger pa I take an xlr out of the amp in to the recording/mixing desk.
Many thanks

Bought it from Sound Control during the close down phase.
The problem is that it is the ac/dc adaptor with the shaver type pins coming out of it so it looks like I will need a complete new adaptor. -
Yes, I like mine for the convenience factor but my problem is that it was supplied with a two pin "shaver" style plug and the adapter I have seems very loose so I end up gaffa taping it down. Anyone else experience this ??

And the names of those would be ??
I'm just a nosey git -
Welcome, do you play in a local band ??
-
For some reason we have always played ( incorrectly I know ) GG FF EbEb D twice then played C
Technically wrong but sounds fine as we pull ( syncopate ?? ) to the G second time round -
Welcome to Basschat and you have certainly picked the right website as it is frequented by players who have a wealth of information and knowledge.
Hope you enjoy your bass playing and I am sure you will be looking to play in a band soon as that is when all the hard work comes together.

This is so so cheap and an absolute bargain but like many I am absolutely skint at the moment or I would buy it today !!

Just on the point of buying some used bass bins to supplement our tops to allow us to start reducing on stage volume and go through the desk and i was just wondering how the wires connect from the amp.
I am almost a complete novice regarding this but I assume that the leads come from the amp to the bass bins that somehow detects what they need to reproduce sound wise and then the signal continues to the tops to re produce the vocals/higher frequencies.
Am I correct ?? or have I got it totally wrong ??
Many thanks

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.......last gig of the year and normally a very special night as we always play a one set xmas gig to about 80 special needs adults and the joy on their faces is absolutely priceless.
It's always an early start/fiinish gig and our singer was always on a tight deadline ( 7.30 start ) but at 7.10 it was our drummer who we were worried about with frantic calls and texts being sent.
At 7.45 we had no other option other than to get the keyboard player to play 'two finger drums" ( he traded in his Yamaha keyboard with programmed drums for a "pro style" Roland Juno about a year ago ) so after a minute or two practice off we went in to a sloppy version of Valerie but true to form they were dancing within seconds and the night was a roaring success !!
Quite honestly I have never been so relieved playing the final note of a gig !! ( the drivers waiting to collect the audience and take them home etc must have wondered where the hell they got the band from !! )
Very valid reason for the drummers absence but better communication needed next year I think !! -
I Want You Back Jackson Five
Plus one.......love playing this live !!

Just added the octave and it sounds better already. I thought they were in there but I wasn't 100% sure
