1.
:-) Maybe there's a new business model there. A restaurant where the meal is free, but there's screens all round the walls playing adverts and every 5 minutes the waiter comes round asking if you want to buy something or look at a brochure. It works online…
Substitute Ryanair/Easyjet for restaurant and flight for meal, and I think you'll find it's already in use
2. The roar of the greasepaint and the smell of the crowd - it's what gigging is all about
3. I've just put our choir details on here. Could be a help in finding a choir of the type you like, near you http://www.bigbigsing.org/start-singing/find-me-a-choir/
4. I sing in a male voice choir, and love it. Not remotely ''goddy' even though we do a fair bit of religious stuff ( just goes with the territory) Learned so much about harmonies and musical composition, plus we have a very active social side. May not float your boat, but I'd certainly recommend you give it a try. We sang in the Royal Albert Hall last November, which was a bit of a head rush :-)
5. I have an 'MDF' 94 MIJ Squier Precision. It's not that flaky, sawdust, type material that you get flatpack furniture and worktops made out of. It's very fine and smooth - more like a moulded plastic than wood. It must also be a lot heavier than wood, as there are quite large areas routed out under the pickguard to lighten it. I know many people will look down their noses at it, but it sounds fantastic, and I won't be getting rid of mine for some time
6. About 300 miles from you - Truro, Cornwall I do have a strong box and lots of padding - and something to put the bass in as well
7. Was £150 delivered. Have fallen out of love with it, which is a shame as it's a quality bit of kit, but the trollop that is my Precision has all my attention these days Make me a sensible offer to send it to a home where it will get the kind words it deserves
8. There has to be times when Tim Berners-Lee thinks 'Why did I do it??'
9. Used Interparcel/UPS many times for basses, amps and cabs. Never had a single problem with them, and always delivered next day (apart from one that had to go from West Cornwall to Perth, Scotland, and took 2 days, unsurprisingly) Our receptionists at work are now quite used to large, slim, boxes arriving and departing
10.
According to her and her dad it's because we are not using proper dedicated bass bins!!
11. See the internal ruler inside the speakers, so you can measure how good they are
12. Shame really, as I was after the first or third best http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-AS-3iENGLAND-EL34-Triode-Connect-VALVE-amplifier-/161257006487?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Amplifiers&hash=item258baaa597 Can anyone make sense of this ad, because I certainly can't
13. Sorry to break the bad news http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/arts-entertainment/kate-bush-warns-everyone-she-now-looks-like-lemmy-2014032184900

Sold a BBOT to Chris No problems or fuss He's now another step closer to building that P
15. I've met more friends through taking up with the 4 stringed beast, than ever I did before (even some guitarists) My 2p - get to a few jam nights as a spectator. See which ones play stuff you like, and what are the perennial favourites. Learn the root notes so you can thud along, save attempts at anything fancy for the bedroom at the moment. You'll soon gain in confidence, and IMHO there is nothing like that round of applause at the end, to buck you up. Then try root and 5th, or root and octave. Simple confidence building stuff. YouTube is your friend :-) Good luck
16. I don't know who produces bigger piles of cack - matey here, or our other dear friend, Shovelhands I had to go and wash my hands after seeing this one
17. Times is 'ard - type bump
18. Is it the same on both channels? If so, probably the speaker. If it's only on the Classic (valve) channel, could just be a new valve needed. It's a standard ECC83 (12AX7) valve which will cost you £15 and takes a few minutes to fit
19. Final price reduction - £150 delivered Someone must have some love for these massively under-rated bits of Japanese quality
20. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200985904486?var=500200922883&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I've had a plain black one, and a BWB and been very pleased with them.
21. They look like the business. I'll measure the string spacing tonight, as I'm not sure if i need the J or the P version My Squier is a black one. No Silver Series logo, but a Q-6 digit serial. When I took the neck off, it had SQ II PB/R on a label in the neck pocket and stamped on the heel
22. Picked up a 93/94 MIJ Squier Precision of The Bay this week. When I changed the strings, I found the nut was snapped in 2 under the A string. I've got a cheapo graphite nut on the way, but it's 6mm thick and the slot is 3mm. Obviously I can file it down, but I wondered if anyone knew of someplace that sells bone or brass 40mm wide/3mm thick nuts Cheers
23. I put an Artec in mine when I had one. Fitted fine, and sounded great, but the shafts on the stacked tone pot were too thick for the original Jack knobs, so I had to buy a close match replacement set. The Artecs are the 'standard' 6 & 8mm diameter
24. and you'll need the tiny ones for adjusting the saddle heights when you lower the action right down
