1.
If you wanted the item you should have bid on it. Your fault for counting on a snipe. It is his item and has the right to do it.
If I bid, or snipe, it's my choice. As you've seen, pulling an auction just because you think it won't reach a certain price is against eBay rules, and hacks off many people like me who are keen to bid.
2. I had a sniper bid ready to go on this item, and he obviously panicked and pulled it just before the end. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170889897925#ht_2030wt_922 Now relisted with a reserve. Might bid, might just tell him to poke it Grrrrrrrrrrrrr I hate that!!!
3. But don't forget 'please remember that this bass has been home made entirely from scratch with household materials' The mind boggles!!!!

5.
I get D D D A
"I got my first real sixstring.........Bought it at the five and dime.........."
6. Must have been staked out on a termite mound
7. Well, we took all your excellent advice last night. Turned down the amps, got the drummer to ease off a tad, and hey presto! Audience swinging their pants, 2 encores, and a landlady falling over herself to rebook us. Result!! Cheers guys :-)
8. Used them a few times with no problems at all.
9. Some great advice here, guys - thanks very much. We've got to get Saturday's gig nailed, as the landlady will then book us for the rest of the year. We're turning up extra early to get the sound right, and make sure she's happy
10.
Most drummers feel alienated from the actual musicians (that's why they always hang out with the singer(s) ) and have to prove their worth through loudness. Give him a channel for his kick drum... then he'll feel appreciated and more part of "the sound".
He gets 2 tracks to do his 'Keith Moon total wigout' routine - what more does he want FFS!!!
11.
Most bands play too loud. Turn down until you get a good balance.
Seems to be a common theme here. Just need to keep Animal under control. I see a couple of lager and Night Nurse chasers coming on for him
12. We'll get him a set of knitting needles We are planning to put the amps on 1/3 of their usual settings, then build up to blend with the vocals. Normally it's a case of cranking the PA until it overcomes the rest or feeds back - not the best method, I know.
13. We are a bog standard pub covers band - vox/guitar/keys/bass/drums. At our last gig, the landlady told us we were too loud and they couldn't hear the vocals. The drummer's response was "The PA (ours) is crap - we need a bigger one!!!". Our response is "The PA is fine for the size of pubs we play. We need to balance the sound better, so that the vocals come through more" We don't have a sound guy and the instruments & drum kit are not miked. Normally I plug in a long lead and stand in front of the stage to play and hear the sound, but it means running back and forward to tweak my amp, and it's a bit hit & miss. Do you get the venue owner to check the levels to make sure they're happy, or do you say "This is our sound, like it or lump it!"? All sound check tips gratefully accepted Dave and The FRANKIE Band
14. and replied Still for sale, with offers most welcome
15. Hi John I agree, It's the world's first fretted, fretless neck! Nice one, WD Music. It has dot markers on the side of the neck. Having compared them with a fretted Jazz, they are where the frets would be, as seems to be normal for fretless necks. My trusty tape measure has the holes at 1.6cm, about 5/8th inch, in diameter.
16. Sunday morning 'Offers Invited' bumpage, before it gets fed to The Bay
17. Would like to get it shifted this weekend if possible, so try a sensible offer
18. I bought this neck to replace the lined one on my Squier VM fretless jazz, as I don't like lined necks, but ended up selling the bass before fitting it. It is a WD Music, Licensed By Fender, unlined fretless neck, with an ebony fingerboard. I've put a '62 replica Jazz decal on it and sealed it with several coats of spray acrylic, but there are some tiny bubble marks right on the end that show in the right light, so it needs a light rub down and a final coat. Only the front of the headstock was sprayed. The back and underside of the neck are as from the factory. The nut slot is 1½" wide and the heel tapers from 2½" to 2 3/8th" at the base of the neck. Truss rod adjustment is at the heel end. It is in totally mint condition, no scratches, screw holes, bumps or dings. I'll chuck in the can of clear acrylic as well if you want it. Yours for £155 posted, or £150 collected from Truro, Cornwall. Payment by Bank Transfer, Paypal gift, or cold hard cash :-) Current retail on these is £204.25 http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/product/BASS_NECK_EBONY_BE
19. This could be a post here, or in the EUB section, but having played the Dean Pace upright stick bass I got from the Bay today, I am blown away with the depth of tone up at the dusty end. I've had a number of fretless' from Ric, Leo, Westone and Yam, but this thing is a total beast for sustain, vibrato and the ever elusive Mwaaaahh. Got a 34" scale neck, so fingers like a 'leckie, but such a different experience to play upright on a tripod stand. I know they are a bit of an odd bass/ EUB hybrid, but if you get the chance to try one, grab it. Well pleased :-)
20.
oh hang on havent recieved the money yet, bugger....
Did matey pay up as promised? There could be a few of us on a high hat diet if they did ;-)
21. Don't PANIC!!!!!! If you've got Watchers, they'll be lining up for a last 20 seconds feeding frenzy - it's how it goes these days
22. Funny looking submarine. Bet it leaks.
23. If it was a fretless 4, you'd be missing a hand now. Still looking, if anyone's uncle has one in their attic

It really does mess with my eyes.
