1. Thought I had a buyer, but now available again, type bump
2. Since joining a more rocky band, my F1 has been relegated to the subs bench in favour of an Ampeg, so I think it's time to move it to a new home where it'll be appreciated more. Lovely compact, but massively powerful 500W Class D amp. Can go from super clean to a bit old school with the VPF and VLE filters, but there's no valve drive or grind there if you need it (like I do now) I put a VT pedal in front of it to get that, and it sounded superb, if you don't want to lug any big iron around. Very good condition, and in perfect working order £350 delivered, insured, to a UK mainland address. Bit cheaper if you collect from Truro, Cornwall No trades thanks
3. Sold - no more to see here - move along now
4. Tom bought my Geddy Lee Jazz. Paid on the nail and was a great person to sell to. Welcome to the wonderful world of buying & selling on Basschat Dave
5. On Hold subject to payment
6. And a bump to the top for a fantastic bass
7. Bumpity Bump and a price drop due to new bass arriving last week Now £550 with delivery to a UK mainland address
8. Selling my Geddy Lee Jazz, as something else has now arrived at Hux Acres I bought it from here in Sep 2014 and have really enjoyed owning it, but can now tick it off the list of 'Lovely basses I'd like to own someday' One of the original Made in Japan model. Superb condition, with no dings or dents. Has a Badass bridge as standard on these, plus the Fender vintage pups. Recently fitted with a set of Ernie Ball strings, this bad boy sounds awesome. Probably the thinnest neck you'll ever play - it's what the Geddy is renowned for. Thinner than a standard Jazz. If you like a chunky P neck, then move along now. Lovely low action. Someone borrowed it once and said it played itself!!! I'll chuck in a Fender gig bag if you need it, and also the original white 3 ply pickguard, if you don't like the pearlescent one that's on there. It's got Schaller strap locks on at the moment, they'll come off and the originals will go back on (unless you want the Schallers left on) For total clarity, the eagle eyed among you may be wondering about the serial number sticker. It means that just after it was born in 2007, it went back to the Fender factory for some minor defect. It was then put back out to dealers, but with a new serial number to stop it being sold as 'New' As it's now 9 years later, we can definitely not get worked up about that Yours for £550 with insured delivery to a UK mainland address. A bit cheaper if you collect it from Truro, Cornwall No trades, thank you, just lovely electric money (or notes if you prefer)
9.
How big a sample size? I ask because experience of your posts generally points to you being something of a troll, so I'm inclined to take anything you say with a tablespoon or two of salt.
[mod mode] Easy tiger, let's not light any touchpaper [end mod mode]
10.
we are usually the most laid back and sensible of the bunch, hence we are often employed as mediators and peacekeepers.
And I was the one nominated to collect the cash at the end of the night And we had a nice chat And she paid us in full And bass players rule :-)
11. ....you're setting up in a pub you've never played before. And you've been told by the landlady to setup behind a line from the door post to the corner of the pool table, so as not to block access. And the guitarist's pedal board and mike stand is just over the line. And the landlady asks him to move it. And he say's 'It's only just over the line, whats the problem'. And she says 'Are you arguing with me?'. And the bass player has to step in and smooth all the feathers and stroke the fur back down. And move the pedal board and mike stand back behind the line. That wasn't in the job description
12. I had one of the Hofner Ignition violin models. Yes I know it's not in the same league as the 500/1, build wise, but somewhere in the same postcode as that ballpark. Tiny, tiny, neck. So narrow. I bought it brand new and it came with some fairly horrid roundwounds on it. I swapped them out for some LaBella BB flats, which are made specifically for these basses. Superb pickups, very powerful. Takes everyone by surprise, because they think you've brought a toy along. Only downside is a tendency to wobble your head when you sing high notes ;-)
13. Sold some pickups to Chris. Same old story. - friendly, polite, paid on the nail. What are we going to do with him????? ;-) Cheers mate
14. I bought these from Barrie (Molan) of this parish about 18 months ago and fitted them into my Aerodyne Jazz. Now changed bands and genre, so have swapped them out for some Quarterpounders. Split coil, noise cancelling, J pup. Plenty of wire on both pups. What you see is what you get, plus the old SD box to pack them in. They are £195 new from Bass Direct. I paid £170 and they're in same the condition I got them i.e fully working and good Yours for £145 posted in the UK Cheers Dave
15. If it helps, I recently had an SVT3 Pro in a heavy duty wood/Ali case shipped to me in Cornwall from Inverness for just under £20 insured. Used Interparcel. Never let me down yet
16.
I`ve found that the SVT3-PRO - with a change of pre-amp valves for more gain - is pretty near the full SVT, and is much more doable. Pairs nicely with a Barefaced Super 12 as well. The heft of the sound is nicely there.
My exact rig - and mightily trouser flapping it is too. Sits just right on the top as well, so it doesn't look like a noisy mushroom
17.
Ok cool. Was just looking at a HA3500 thats spent its life being played through an 8ohm cab.
Noone ever gets an HA3500 above 3 on the Master anyway, because it destroys buildings if you do, so I wouldn't worry too much about usage
18.
Sonic heaven, lumbar hell.
Man up - it's only 40lb!!!!
19. ,,,what all the fuss is about Played my newly arrived Ampeg SVT3 in anger for the first last night. Never had an Ampeg before. Why have I waited so long???? Just sonic heaven (other opinions available)
20. Awaiting the arrival of an Ampeg SVT3 Pro, in an ally flight case, that had a BIN price so low that it took me all of 3 seconds to blink and then click the button
21. Price reduced to £365 delivered to a UK mainland address
22. Here we have a Japanese Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass. Made in the Fuji-Gen factory in 2005-06 The Aerodynes have a slab body with cream binding, PJ pickups and in these export versions, a Strat type jack socket and no scratch plate. The hardware is 'smoke' coloured by the factory (in case you think it looks tarnished) Got a few dings on the body and headstock, which is why the price is lower than normal for an Aerodyne. Perfect working order, with a nice snarl to it, but could probably do with a new set of strings. Everything is as it came out of the factory - totally standard Includes a rather battered semi-hard case and a strap (woo hoo!!!) Yours for £365 delivered to a UK mainland address - cheaper if you can collect from Truro, Cornwall
23. I've had....... An LM II A TTE500 2 F1's ...think I quite like Markbass Currently running a Geddy Jazz through a BDI-21 VT pedal, through an F1 and into a Barefaced S12T and I'm in tone heaven
24. *Mod Mode* There have been a couple of posts which might, just might, have come across as possible sale adverts. Please just remember that anything that looks like a sale ad outside of the 'official' channels will magically float off into the ether, never to be seen again Carry on * End of Mod Mode*
