2. The EB 'rays I've had all had the same problem. I did have a clone with a body made by Howard "the Bass Doc" which had a perfectly good G string so it must be something inherent in the way EB make 'em. I just moved the pickup closer to the G on the problem ones. Strangely enough, the modelled Stingray on a Roland VBass also exhibits the same problem.
3. Strangest one I've been asked to do is 'The Mexican Hat Dance' with a steadily increasing tempo.!
4. Adding to what crez said, in my experience it takes a lot of time, effort and money for it to pay off. I formed an 8 piece wedding/function band 18 months ago and we've been gigging regularly for reasonably good money for around 12 months. Only now are we starting to break even because of all the costs involved in promotion and investment in PA etc. We've had to shell out for photos, studio time for a demo, wedding fayres, flyers and promo packs, website and Google adwords, insurance, PAT testing etc. etc. and it all mounts up and takes a lot of time to manage properly. I think a good place to start is getting a decent website and paying for Google adwords to generate traffic. The costs can quickly mount up though - we're currently paying nearly £1 per click.

6. Bought this recently from Beedster but haven't used it so it's time to move it on. Good condition, working 100%, some rack rash on the rack ears. No pics but it is this one: http://www.dbxpro.com/266xl/266XL.php Unfortunately I probably won't be able to post this until Wednesday 18th November. SOLD. Cheers, Ray

9. I bought some Roqsolid covers for mine which do a good job of keeping them clean. However, I did need to add some feet on the side opposite the handle to stop that side getting scuffed and dirty when loading/unloading. Although a cheap and easy mod I really think Aguilar should put feet on two sides from the factory.
10. Here's a crappy pic of mine which shows off my beer gut better than the cabs:

12. I almost always run my rig as follows: Tweeters on cabs around 50% to leave some sizzle without it being overpowering. On my Sadowsky I run it active with 0 treble boost and just a smidge of bass boost. Amp all flat with input gain set as high as poss without clipping from my loudest notes. Sounds great. My MTD needs some treble cut and bass boost to warm it up a tad but I leave my amp flat as above. I do cut the bass and/or mid on my amp in boomy rooms but I don't often need to do this since buying some Auralex foam to put my cabs on.
13. Bought a dbx compressor from Chris. I now have more flashing lights in my rig and we all know that you can never have too many of those. A great deal and fast delivery to boot. Cheers Chris!
14. A 5 string would have tasted better Love it.
15. I'm up for meeting somewhere in the NW (Manchester/Leeds/Liverpool etc.) to pick up and then pass on if it's ever round these parts. I'm genuinely interested to see how it compares to 2 x db112s with a view to moving them on to (part) fund purchase of a Big One if I like how it sounds on a gig.
16. If the Northern Compact is ever in the vicinity of Manchester, I'd love to compare it to my 2 x DB112s at a gig and post a review.
17. Aaaggh! I'd have this back if I wasn't so bloomin skint. It's one of the few basses I regret moving on. Lovely and light as well IIRC

20. 495? Hahaha. That's pence right? The body looks like a copy of a BC Rich Eagle. Made by a blind person. With 2 fingers.
21.
and the shops seem to be full of new Sadowsky NYCs and Metros recently. BB
Which shops? I thought NYC Sadowskys could only be bought direct.
22. Great stuff! A couple of questions: How much? Who did it? How long did it take? Thanks in advance. Mine has a broken nut so it would be the ideal time to get something like this done.
23.
Cracking pedal this, i used to have one , i called it my "turd polisher" used to use it on the ships with an ashdown combo, it worked wonders for adding a bit of life to the tone!!! by the way best avatar ever all the best PS giz a shout if you move on that lovely sadowsky of yours - lee
Cheers Lee! Don't think I'll be moving my Sadowsky on anytime soon. I think it is "the one". I quite fancy a P again though so I may be tempted to sell my MTD at some point.
24.
ooooo interesting! EDIT: Any issues with hum/hiss at any volume with this pedal? Any reliability/construction issues? Unwanted noise when pushing the footswitch? Just anything I should know about it really.
No issues that I've noticed with hiss or hum. The footswitch works perfectly without any issues at all. I have used this for about 4 gigs only so apart from the gunk on the bottom it is pretty much as new.
