4 string Stingray copy bought from cd_david which he had custom made in the early 90's. Neck by Jim "The Master" Cairns in stunning birdseye maple with rosewood fingerboard. Old English White Ash body built by Howard "Bass Doc" Satterley. Pickup and electronics are genuine Ernie Ball Stingray. Has Schaller tuners and a Hipshot Detuner which I added. Has a couple of battle scars as to be expected from a 15+ year old bass but sounds and plays as well as any of the "real" 'rays I've owned. I believe it's been owned by at least 3 basschatters in its time if anyone would like to check its history (cd_david, funkydoug and Wateroftyne) Looking for what I paid, [s]£350[/s] + p&p. Now reduced to £325 + p&p Really need to move this so if it doesn't sell here, it's off to feebay Would prefer pickup/deliver/meet if at all possible as I don't have a case for this. Only selling as I play 5's these days and I've seen something on here which I really want. More details here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=16198 (now has genuine EB pickup//MM style bridge/MM decal added by cd_david and a tort plate added by me although I do have the original 3 ply black) and here is the thread which I bought it via (details are correct but the bass pics appear to be from different basses) http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=27918 Now SOLD *sniff*

Would prefer pickup/delivery/meet if possible but will post insured at cost.

I bought this mainly for its synth bass sounds but my band has changed its set considerably recently and it's not getting used. Includes boxed floor unit/mains lead with manual, GK3B pickup/control unit/control unit mounting hardware and 13 pin cable. All in excellent condition but I seem to have mislaid the sticky mounting spacers for the pickup. Will include them if I find them before sale. Not a biggie as it's easy to fix the pickup semi permanently with some sticky foam pads. No trades thanks as I'm going to put the cash towards a bass. [s]£350[/s] [s]£325 + p&p[/s] £300 + p&p anyone? V bass info here GK3B info here Suitable for 4,5 and 6 string basses. Now sold.

Ever tried an MTD?

For that price I'd expect it to be made from the wood of Christ's crucifix.
It's not to do with what it says, it's more the layout and lettering. I think the design looks cheap.
Exactly. Another thing Warwick do which drives me mad is use Comic Sans MS as the font on their amps. I hate that font with a passion.

Sold Johnny a little red box o' funk. He sorted me out with the moolah pronto fashion. 'E's a good 'un.
I've had a closer look at what may happen if the 19mm spacing bridge was fitted - by the time the strings hit the fingerboard the differential is not huge and I would suggest measuring the width of the neck of your current bass at the 20th fret. My Fender neck at that point is 71.5mm so with the suggested replacement bridge measuring 74mm string-to-string I reckon the B and G would still be safely on the board. Let me know how the above measurements compare - even if it's only for my future information.
Interesting. I'll take a look tonight and post the measurements.

I just got rid of another bass with 16.5mm spacing as my main bass is 19mm and switching between the two was proving difficult. I suspect 17.5mm would still cause me some grief. Looking at the pic, it looks like the strings would be really close to the fingerboard edge at 19mm. I wouldn't want you to mess around putting the other bridge on to find out it wouldn't work. Shame as this could've been an ideal backup bass.

Did the venue have an induction loop for hearing impaired people? That would cause the symptoms you are describing.
I swapped my Lakland 5502 a few weeks ago for one of these, bad timing for you . FWIW I think £500 is undervaluing it a bit - they're £1200 new !
Bah! A Lakland would've been ideal. I saw another $$ on here for £550 so I thought £500 was about right for a quick sale. Oh well, too late anyway as this is now sold pending delivery.

Here FS/FT is my recently acquired 06 Warwick Corvette $$ in Natural. This is a great sounding and versatile bass with a fantastic B for a 34" scale. Unfortunately I'm just not getting on with the 16.5mm string spacing. I've been using this as a backup to my MTD (19mm spacing) and swapping between the two is proving difficult. It has a couple of minor dings but nothing that affects playability. Looking for £500 + P&P or trade for another 5 with ideally 19mm string spacing. Something like a 5 string Jazz would be ideal. Could maybe add a bit of cash for the right trade. Here are the pics from Chelios, the previous owner (Hope this is OK Chelios, if not I'll take them down and take some more tonight): Comes with a functional but slightly tatty hard case. Willing to deliver within 100(ish) miles of Manchester for £15 towards fuel.

I tried to buy a Precision Deluxe off this dickhead some time ago. Despite me offering the asking price in cash he wouldn't sell it to me because I wanted to pick it up. He insisted on adding some ridiculous postage amount on top so I told him to stick the bass up his backside. Sideways.

Peter Murray (MB's Marketing Bod) posted this over on TalkBS on 2nd April: "All of the pedals are going into production this month (April) except the Octaver and Super Synth, which will both come later in the year. Cheers from Frankfurt! Peter" So it looks like there could be a wait for the Synth and Octaver.

Another very happy recent Aguilar convert here. I now have 2x DB112 in White Hot with an Epifani PS600 Head. The improvement in tone is well worth the extra weight compared to my old Markbass rig.

I'm glad to see that Flea "Free Tibet" is having signature basses built in Shanghai.

Glad I could help. I knew I'd seen it over on TalkBS because I was searching for exactly the same thing a few days ago. I've not been brave enough to try it yet though,. I'll let you be the guinea pig if you want

I've tried and tried to get into her playing but it leaves me cold. I've seen her compared to Jaco but I just can't hear it. (Some of) Jaco's playing rocks my world but Tal's just reminds me of the stuff that used to get played over Ceefax at 3.00am. I've said it before but if she looked like Kathy Staff she wouldn't get anywhere near the attention that she does.
