    I wouldn't worry too much about a clicky pickup to start with , it's quite a specific sound and bare in mind they didn't have them in the 50s 60s changing a bass to a lefty is a big expensive job, taking the front off making a new bass bar etc. plus you couldn't play another bass if you had a gig with a house bass, I'd stand on the other side if you can pickups are an absolute minefield , one pickup may sound great on one bass but not the next, my advice would be don't get too caught up in it to start with

    SWR Big Ben 18" cab £175 it's one of the early black grill ones with the Bag End driver I bought this to use with a 2 10 but to my ears it sounds great on its own, it has a quicker response than I expected and way more high frequency, I bought it to replace an ampeg 15 and this has way more detail and of course it has earth trembling subby bottom end, I used it for an electronica project and it sounded amazing with an OC2 It's pretty huge but not as heavy as it looks!! good condition I'll get some pics up in the next few days I'm near crystal palace south london [attachment=209439:20160112_194310.jpg] [attachment=209440:20160112_192321.jpg] [attachment=209441:20160112_192237.jpg] [attachment=209442:20160112_192205.jpg] ,

    After watching the vid last night I listened to Ella and Basie again,you gotta check it out,the album starts with Honeysuckle Rose and the first 8 is just Buddy and Ella ,wonderful stuff

    Great vid ,thanks for sharing , Buddy caught my ear on the fantastic Ella and Basie record and I looked him up and checked some of his stuff with Lucky Thompson too. So pleased you posted this, there are so many wonderful yet relatively unknown bass players that should be appreciated

    Bergantino HD112 Best sounding 12 I've heard, when I bought this I was after something light but putting it side by side with vanderkley and barefaced that both have neo speakers the hd had warmth and punch that was worth the extra kilos Good condition,a few scuffs on the bottom with berg padded cover,costs £660 from bassdirect I'm in crystal palace and happy to meet for fuel cost also selling a hd210 and could do a deal on the pair trade for orange AD200b, Marshall VBA 400 , Mesa 400+, maybe a Aguilar Ag 500 [attachment=207697:berg1122.jpg] [attachment=207698:berg112.jpg][attachment=207699:berghd210112.jpg]

    I tend to play arpeggiate a triad, root on beat 1 , 3rd on and of 2, 5th on beat 3 , 3rd on beat 4,

    Not really, the rest of the gig is 5 piece with 2 horns,I sometimes dread the encore a bit if it's a bass that's hard to play

    Thanks guys,not sure what the bass ,unfortunately it's not mine,it was a club in Paris and that was the bass a local player rents them,think it was a GK amp,the bass sounded great acoustic ,I tried to talk the engineer into putting a mic on it but he wasn't having it
