I've played my mates one a fair bit , the 34 inch scale and pick up in the precision sweet spot marks it out from the other semi basses, I loved it sitting down but struggled with it stood up

I've got a 66, 77 , 81jv , CS , and a classic vibe , they're all different but all do essentially the same thing I've played duff pre CBS p's and great resonant chinese squiers!

Yet you can get a 2nd hand squier classic vibe or sire for absolute peanuts !

These guys have been on my radar for a while,think I saw some vids with mononeon, incredible virtuosos and interesting to hear them after the Anderson Paak record deal , don't often hear such technical muso music presented in such a commercial way

Hmmm I had a retro 210 and found it a bit indistinct , lacking punch , I'll check out the super twin though, voiced quite differently to the retro range?

Had enough of lugging my ceramics around , ideally single cab , currently using a pair of berg hd112 , love the sound and I'll keep em but want something lighter as well

The set up I'm thinking about is a Dickinson P1 which is a high end valve pre pedal which I'll sometimes run into my amps but wanted recommendations for a a power only amp to run it through for a more portable set up when needed , I agree Bigred that rack mount stuff negates the point of it for my use in which case I might as we'll put the pedal through the class d amps I've got Are there any class D power amps out there more like the quilter form rather than rack?

Yeah don't disagree but it's often a trade off and often just a monitor if there's a DI for foh

Can't be bothered lugging big valve amps around and not crazy bout my class d amps tone so I'm thinking of using a valve pre but will need to get a power amp, am I right in thinking it doesn't have to be a bass amp, any ideas? Small light and powerful preferably

Has anyone on here done a trade on a bass that has an inflated trade price?

I make a living playing bass , upright and electric, from big international concert halls with an attentive respectful audience playing challenging music to weddings banging out the usual covers with a drunk idiot shouting in my ear with a daft request and everything in between been doing it 20 years now , it's not easy but I love it and have managed to support a family , I think being versatile and being in London have made it possible, I don't feel like having to do it has made me jaded or effected my enthusiasm for it, can still find positives in most musical situations, still learning, still checking out new music , still chasing that illusive dream tone through the classifieds on here! and don't know what else I could do now

I see what you mean bout a straight sale but if everyone did it then when you traded it would be for a bass that was worth the same in market value anyway and if you didn't do it you'd be mad to do a trade with a 30percent odd inflated figure against true market value on your bass wouldn't you? Not trying to start a fight here btw , people can ask for whatever they want in there ads it doesn't fosters me off but I genuinely can't get my head round and am intrigued as to whether people who use a trade price would accept a trade price from the other party in a trade? It came up cos a while ago there was something I fancied and I had one of the trades mentioned in the ad but they had 2 prices , £1000 and £1500 I think , it was a p and a j , same make same condition same value ish , so I thought do I say my value is £1500 for a trade even though it's worth a grand? I wouldn't trade with £500 cash , I actually passed it up, didn't wanna get involved , I guess Sibob this is actually illustrating your point that it encourages a straight sale !

I've been a bit confused by ads that have an inflated trade price, would someone with the inflated trade price accept the other party also having an inflated trade price or would they insist on the other party using the market value sale price? Otherwise it would negate the different price anyway?

Just stumbled across anaconda basses online but the website just has an email and they haven't replied, anyone know if they're still a going concern, anyone played one or got one ?
