1.
For me, jazz is a bit like sprouts. I feel I ought to like it, but every time I try it, I still go "yuk". I don't get it.
Too much of it makes you flatulent :-)
2. Thanks karlfer, I missed that in the Classified . Bolton is no doubt a fine place, I've had many an outstanding pint of Joe Holts in the Rumworth Arms but its a bit too far away this time.
3. It's been a busy year for me: In Yamaha BBNE2 LTD Out Yamaha TRB5P Status Vintage Burman Pro2000
4. You might want to crosspost this into the DIY sticky in the 'Effects' forum, the folks who post in there have a lot of useful advice.
5. Most of the time it's not a problem because it's always been much more effective to search the site with google anyway. But that doesn't work for areas of the site which google doesn't see.
6. jaybass70, another thought , are you running the 64-bit version of Windows 7 ? There are a couple of comments on youtube about the software not working on the 64-bit version and that seems reasonable, given that the software dates from 2008. If so there are a few ways round it, but the easiest is probably to run Windows 7 compatibility mode. I can't test this, since all my Windoze machines are of the 32-bit variety.
7. Hopefully I'll have some time over the weekend to experiment and see if I can get it working with my Midi soundcard. Edit: It looks like you also need to install the Micro$oft .net framework - do you have that installed? Another piece of information that people might find useful - The b9.1ut will just fit on a Diago Gigman, and leave room for the Power Supply and an SFX MicroThumpinator. But not much else.
8. Just tried to search my Personal Messenger (from the dropdown menu under my login name, it takes me to http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?app=members&module=messaging ) . Whatever I type in as a search string , I get a 405 Not Allowed message returned.
9. I don't know whether presets can be backed up via DAW - haven't found that bit in the manual yet. On p.60 it says: Editor/librarian software for the B9.1ut ZOOM CORPORATION makes an editor/librarian software application for the B9.1ut available for download on its web site. To use the software, the computer must have a MIDI interface, and a connection must be established between the MIDI IN/MIDI OUT connectors of the computer and the MIDI OUT/MIDI IN connectors of the B9.1ut. The software then makes it possible to store patch data of the B9.1ut on the computer, edit the data, and copy edited patch data back to the B9.1ut. I do have a MIDI soundcard in one of the desktop machines, but only one MIDI lead (Doh!) so I'll have to acquire another to test this out. Sorry to say it's not my no.1 priority - I'm still getting my head around the amp/cab modelling and the synth effects.
10.
Hi guys, is anyone using the Librarian software to edit patches, I cant get it to work
It's on the list of things to do, but I'm not ready yet. Just a thought, you do have it hooked up to a Midi interface? I don't think it works via USB.
11. Well done chap! Looks like a very nice example.
12. Fabulous guitars. Terrible resale value. Buy second-hand.
13. Nothing personal, just that I don't buy instruments from people I don't know without playing them first and I have no plans to visit Poland in the near future. Quite happy to meet up with you next time you are in England. As far as I know, and I'm quite happy to be corrected by someone who knows better, Yamato were made by the Tombo company. Ibanez and Cimar were made by Matsumoko and Tama and in the case of Ibanez, lots of other firms too.
14. I'd have done anything for one of these in 1974. Good job I never met Jimmy Savile! Looks fantastic. If only it were in the UK I would be interested. I think you're right about Yamato - it's very similar to pictures I've seen of National branded instruments which were apparently made in the same factory. The headstock, zero fret and bridge says to me it's not Ibanez, though I'm not an expert. Short scale, I take it? Hopefully noel27k will see this and know more.
15. G&L Tribute is 17mm, which is pretty close to what you're looking for.
16. Peavey IPR 1600 should be on your list.
17.
The list of bass cabs where the woofers have any kind of crossover on them is quite a short one (Baer, Audiokinesis, some Barefaced, some Bergantino, anything else?)
My EA VL110's have a 3-way crossover. I don't know whether the more recent EA cabs do though.
18. Wally, welcome to Basschat - I expect that bass could tell a few good stories if it could talk. There should be an 'Edit' button at the bottom of the posting - that should allow you a quick edit to add a price, or you can use the Full editor which has a bit more functionality. Edit - I see Johngh has beaten me to it!
19. Many thanks for posting those pictures Roger, looks like a lovely bass. I've never seen another 801.
20. Hm, if remember rightly these have a crossover and a tweeter - maybe the crossover isn't working properly, or something has become disconnected. I used to own a 410 TX years ago and I dimly remember something about a wiring mod, but I can't find the information any more :-(
21. Think I'll have to rule out Pat Metheny as being for all practical purposes dead, based on his output in the last 10 years. That leaves: Slide guitar - Ry Cooder Acoustic guitar - Alan Prosser Other guitars - RIchard Thompson Drums - Jim Keltner Bouzouki - Donal Lunny Vocals - Bonnie Raitt Accordion - Sharon Shannon The set list is going to take a bit of thought.
22. Excellent, Martin is a legend. Keep posting em, especially down south/east
23. I think some of you have short memories - 3 or 4 years ago there were several decent 4-string Stingrays going in this forum for 500 - 600 quid and people were bemoaning the fact at the time. At the moment things seem to have picked up a bit. I can't imagine that the new Sterlings are affecting anything, other than the prices of OLP MM2 and MM3 s. There's really no comparison between the new Sterlings and a proper US Musicman. The old original Sterlings, on the other hand, seem just as sought-after.
24. I think the 'Bump' button is a waste of time because it's too easy to circumvent. A 'Donate' button would be a very good idea, preferrably in a prominent place. Or places. A small charge over a certain limit, or the option of an annual 'selling rights' fee would seem to be the most practical option and the path of least resistance.
