I have one. I'll go and open it up now. Pretty sure mine has the standard equipment in the pre-amp side.

Vintage MIJ (formerly J@pCr@p) Spotting
pete.young replied to Bassassin's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Time for a trawl Antoria SG short-scale , looks tidy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Antoria-EBO-bass-Made-Japan-1970s-/290676535363?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item43adabf043 Yamaha BB800 - I have had one of these since 1980 , better than any 1970s Fender precision. This looks like it will go for a song, someone please buy it to stop me! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-BB800-Bass-Guitar-/160750712715?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item256d7d378b Aria The Cat - not too shabby! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aria-Cat-electric-bass-guitar-/290677501787?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item43adbaaf5b 'Jedson' Les Paul - I don't recall Jedson ever making anything as nice as this so it might be something more interesting. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Les-Paul-Bass-/190647066525?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2c63735f9d -
no it should be this simple as long as you're ok at soldering - all these footswitches just take mono jacks don't they?
The switches do, the input sockets on the amp are stereo jack. I've ordered the stuff from bitsbox, fingers crossed - thanks for the encouragement! Soldering is functional but I'm not called 'blobby nobby' for nothing!

Someone trying to sell my Burman for me
pete.young replied to Mr. Foxen's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Not sure I follow - he's trying to sell a Pro 4000 bass head, and there are three pictures of that and one of yours. -
My opinion on this matter is that if a minimum post count were required, someone may not bother sticking around to put their item up for sale and never visit the forum again. This for me is a negative aspect as it will mean no-one will get the opportunity to buy it whether they're regular or not.
This. An example - I have inherited a metric shitload of N-gauge model railway stuff which is cluttering up the house. I need to shift it, but don't do ebay. There are forums for this kind of thing but they all have minimum post limits of 30 or more posts. I have no interest in model railways and no idea how I could clock up 30 posts, besides which I don't have the time to invest. I'm sure there are loads of n-gauge forum members who would be interested in the stuff.

Daphne Blue has to be a contender.

I have a Roland AC 60 acoustic guitar amp, which can use up to 4 footswitches to turn various functions on and off. The manual shows it with one Boss FS-5L and three Boss FS-5U pedals, each one costing at least £25 quid, plus two PCS-31 cables at another £25 quid each so we are up to £150 quid just to turn a few effects on and off! I don't think that's a great deal, so it seems to me that it would be fairly straightforward to buy 3 momentary normally on SPST switches, one DPST switch, an LED and a resistor for the latched one, and stick the bits into a dead Behringer footswitch which is currently cluttering up the spares cupboard. A couple of lengths of dual core cable and a couple of stereo 6mm jacks and Robert is your relative. Surely it can't be this simple - what have I missed?

Beautiful and very rare vintage Hagstrom 6 string Bass
pete.young replied to 2x18's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
I had one of these when I was a teenager - at least, the 4-string version. Wish I still had it - if this were a 4 it would be mine. -
I guess we all have different tastes. I think Black Holes is a fantastic album and still listen to it regularly, but that's about it. The Resistance is one of the worst albums I've ever heard - cod chopin meets second rate Queen tribute band.
Colin Fulton "] thoroughly recommended
+1 for Colin.

How strange, what have they done with the G-string, wrapped it round the string tree?
I'm not familiar with the FingerClamp, but if it's just an easily undone nut clamp, it does not solve the problem: on a floating bridge guitar, if you detune the E to D, the loss in tension affects the rest of the strings which go out of tune too.
Ah, OK - I was thinking about the problem of fannying about with Allen keys inbetween numbers. I don't know whether it has a floating bridge - there is one in the house somewhere that belongs to my son, I will see if I can find it. We had a guitarist with a new-ish Strat which exhibited similar symptoms - break a string and all the others went miles out of tune because of the tension change. Utterly useless. Hardails are the way to go, or Biggsby.

I have a Nordstrand in my Precision, and it sounds great

That's a great shame Clarky, it was very evident how much this band meant to you. Still, onward and uppards, as the bard said.

I've not heard of them either. Not exactly local to us, the other side of Eye. I usually take my setups and amp repairs to Paul Glazebrook in Kesgrave who is very good and doesn't charge nearly enough. There's also Colin Fulton in Little Glemham if you need a luthier. -
Nickel roundwound strings - like DR Sunbeams but cheaper...?

Appreciate the sentiment, but you're a month early. It's Saturday 17th March.

EdwardHimself, you will have to hurry up - I've just found out from the Mandolin Cafe site that Epiphone have discontinued the Mandobirds both 4 and 8 string versions, just a few days ago. Or save up a bit more for one of these babies: www.almuse.co.uk/mandolin_gallery.html

I have one of those, although its the 4-string variety. But it sounds good through a chorus, and is a lovely shade of seafoam green. There is some tab at Mandolin Cafe - www.mandolincafe.com . Don't tend to use tab mice elf.

In Macedonia, they make bagpipes out of whole goats. I saw someone playing one like this in Poland. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImtjPPBSr8I Tip: if you're at work, don't go searching google for 'man blowing goat bagpipes'

Seems to be just the CXL cabs that are affected by this. My LMII is quite happy to drive a pair of 8-ohm VL110 cabs all day long without any overheating issues. The iAmp 350 is of a similar age, and that only runs to a minimum of load 4 Ohms, unlike the newer iAmp 500 and 800.

+1 for the Eye and the London Aquarium. I think it's cheaper to book the Eye on line than queue up and buy a ticket on the day. Duck Tours URL: http://www.londonducktours.co.uk/ Most of the museums will involve a fair bit of walking. For musical instruments, you want either the V&A or the Horniman museum, which has a fantastic collection of instruments but is a bit of a trek to get to.

Alternatives to drums as percussion in a band setting

Check out Bellowhead and their amazing percussionist.
