I have a Roland AC 60 acoustic guitar amp, which can use up to 4 footswitches to turn various functions on and off. The manual shows it with one Boss FS-5L and three Boss FS-5U pedals, each one costing at least £25 quid, plus two PCS-31 cables at another £25 quid each so we are up to £150 quid just to turn a few effects on and off! I don't think that's a great deal, so it seems to me that it would be fairly straightforward to buy 3 momentary normally on SPST switches, one DPST switch, an LED and a resistor for the latched one, and stick the bits into a dead Behringer footswitch which is currently cluttering up the spares cupboard. A couple of lengths of dual core cable and a couple of stereo 6mm jacks and Robert is your relative. Surely it can't be this simple - what have I missed?

I had one of these when I was a teenager - at least, the 4-string version. Wish I still had it - if this were a 4 it would be mine.

I guess we all have different tastes. I think Black Holes is a fantastic album and still listen to it regularly, but that's about it. The Resistance is one of the worst albums I've ever heard - cod chopin meets second rate Queen tribute band.

I don't know whether it has a floating bridge - there is one in the house somewhere that belongs to my son, I will see if I can find it. We had a guitarist with a new-ish Strat which exhibited similar symptoms - break a string and all the others went miles out of tune because of the tension change. Utterly useless. Hardails are the way to go, or Biggsby.

Yamaha solved the Floyd Rose problem with the FingerClamp, as fitted to the RGX 620 but it doesn't seem to have caught on. Takes about 2 seconds to undo the clamp, lower the bottom string to D, and do the clamp up again.

I've not heard of them either. Not exactly local to us, the other side of Eye. I usually take my setups and amp repairs to Paul Glazebrook in Kesgrave who is very good and doesn't charge nearly enough. There's also Colin Fulton in Little Glemham if you need a luthier.

I have one of those, although its the 4-string variety. But it sounds good through a chorus, and is a lovely shade of seafoam green. There is some tab at Mandolin Cafe - www.mandolincafe.com . Don't tend to use tab mice elf.

Seems to be just the CXL cabs that are affected by this. My LMII is quite happy to drive a pair of 8-ohm VL110 cabs all day long without any overheating issues. The iAmp 350 is of a similar age, and that only runs to a minimum of load 4 Ohms, unlike the newer iAmp 500 and 800.

+1 for the Eye and the London Aquarium. I think it's cheaper to book the Eye on line than queue up and buy a ticket on the day.
