1. I am not really one for listening to jazz, but I did enjoy some of the things that Barbara Thompson released with Paraphernalia
2. I can't imagine what would cause someone to part with something like that. If it was me, I'd be buried with it. I send the guy a message wishing him good luck with the sale, and he came back to me straight away. Seems to me that it's 100% genuine, and he's 100% nice guy. HappyJack, if you're still looking for a Jazz to invest in this has to be the one!
3.
Careful Ross, all Jon is offering you is the truth. Take the blue pill and you'll wake up safely at home and in bed.
ROFL
4. An "I really want Dougal's Carvin' bump
5.
No problem mate all went pear shaped anyway as the thing wont work now! I have given the buyer a request for a refund which I presume he will want,Looks like a future ebs pre-amp and some new pups once the new stingray arrives and has been paid for.It was going to be an option anyway.
Don't waste your money on the EBS. The Artec SB3 is a brilliant fit with these instruments, I have one in my 465.
6. I've had some nickel roundwounds from them, excellent service although the price isn't quite as keen as it was at 2 dollars to the pound!
7. Bump. No interest in this fantastic cornucopia of synthy goodness?
8.
Radial Bigshot multi instrument/amp selector with individual channel volumes £50 plus £3 P&P: http://www.tonebone.com/re-bigshot-aby.htm
I'm confused - that link seems to be pointing to an AB-Y box. Anyhoo, what's the gain on the preamps?
9. Sold Shaun my Big Muff pedal - really quick money transfer, super efficient and a really nice guy to deal with. Recommended. This man is a serious trader, people.
10.
Anyone know where i could find sheet music for Portrait of Tracy? cheers
Any of the Jaco books - The Essential Jaco Pastorius, published by Hal Leonard has it.
11. Don't panic, you'll be fine. Don't think you're going in there to take the exam: tell yourself that you've already passed the exam, and you're going in there to demonstrate how you did it. jakesbass did a great session at the last South East bass bash which covered a lot of this ground. I think there was a video which may have made it onto youtube, but I can't find it - might be worth dropping silverfoxnik a note about it. I can't really do that session justice in a couple of sentences, but for me some of the essential things were: start with simple notes on the beat. Second time through, put in a few rhythmic extras. If you can do it , have a couple of fills up your sleeve that you can throw in at the end of a 4 or 8-bar phrase.
12. Bassbunny, you may well be right. I won't be heartbroken if there are no takers. To answer a couple of questions: Trades? Not really looking for any bass gear with the exception of Roland GK3-B, but I might be interested in mandolins or banjos. Yes, I'll take PayPal, providing that you pay the fees.
13. I'm probably going to live to regret this, but up for sale is my G&L Tribute L2500. This is a 2003 model with swamp ash body in Cherryburst, rosewood fingerboard and satin finish maple neck. It's in excellent condition with no photographable marks. The odd-looking marks in the top horn in the second photograph are reflections. The Tribute series has the same electronics as the US versions, two humbucking pickups and passive/active/active + treble boost electronics provide a huge range of tones including passable Jazz and P-Bass and an excellent Stingray impression. Action is set comfortably low with a CrazyKiwi-standard £1 coin gap between the 'B' and the 12th fret. Strings are 40-124 DR Sunbeams with plenty life left. String spacing is 17mm and the nut width is narrow. Price is £350. I'd much rather this were collected from Ipswich (I can deliver to Ipswich , central London and all points inbetween), but I'll ship if necessary.
14. My Line 6 Variax 300 is for sale. I've owned this from new. It's in very good condition, with only one or two pick swirls on the scratchplate and a tiny ding on the front of the headstock. The action was set up not long ago and is low and very playable. Included in the sale is a brand-new Ritter junior gig bag and a copy of Variax Workbench, including the USB adaptor, all cables and software. £250 plus shipping - I still have all the original shipping boxes so posting it is not a problem. Alternatively I can deliver it to Ipswich, central London or places inbetween.
15. Little Black Box Shop Double Loop Bypass with LEDs for sale. This is a true-bypass double-loop pedal complete with the brightest blue LEDs I've ever seen. Full technical specification is here: http://www.little-black-box.co.uk/Double-L...EDs/prod_8.html This has velcro on the bottom rather than the rubber feet, and for some strange reason the send/return labels have been stuck on the wrong way round. Other than that it's in excellent condition and works perfectly. £40 quid plus shipping, or I can deliver to Ipswich, central London or reasonable distance of main line stations inbetween.
16. Korg G5 Toneworks Synth Bass Processor for sale. Excellent condition in full working order. Includes a Korg KVP-002 2-channel volume pedal, very useful for real-time frequency control, and the original 9V Korg PSU . The whole lot is stored in a Maplins protective case and the original manual is included. Apologies for my complete lack of photography skills! More pictures on request. This is an excellent synth bass unit which tracks really well and has a lot of classic tones. Reason for sale is that I've gone over to using a V-Bass, otherwise I'd be hanging on to it for sure. SOLD. If you prefer I can deliver to Ipswich, central London or a reasonable distance from main line stations in-between.
17.
Absolutely. Now pay attention Bond.
Oops, not sure what came over me. Precision, Jazz, they're all the same thing really! Point still stands that this is a decent looking bass, if it goes for the current bid.
18. Someone please rescue this nice old Maya precision - I don't need any more basses! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-MAYA-PRECISI...=item19bbd2353c
19.
parcelmonkey rocks -cheap as you like and so easy to use
Parcelmonkey sucks watermelons through elephants. The worst company it's ever been my pleasure to deal with on the internet. I'll never use them again. If you don't beleive me, just ask Gazgoldstar about the tribulations we had with a certain V-Bass unit.
20.
I think I listen to the groove 'as one' - I have to be on the hat side of the kit, though - it drives me nuts if I'm not.
+1 - that gets you in that engine room area of snare, bass and hi-hat. And away from most of that really noisy crash/ride tinplate !
21.
Hmm.....ex guitarguitar sale? Unfortunately even though I love Tecamp, their brand has been devalued by that sale. These were £350 new!
£399 as it happens.
22.
Pete, I think you're missing the point of the thread. This is how Wikipedia describes genius:
Don't patronise me. I understand perfectly well the definition of 'genius', and if I didn't I'm quite capable of looking it up for myself. There is no point to this thread - it's entirely subjective and serves no purpose.
23. If I take the Burman anywhere, the LMII always comes along for the ride just in case. It paid off when the Burman power valves decided to fall out during the gig (now fixed with a set of Marshall-pattern retaining springs).
