  1. No idea, but most recent Cubes including the current model have built-in compression, which is usually helpful for slappers.
  2. Roland Cube might be worth a look, they're a step up in quality from Behringer and Rumble, and have lots of interesting effects built-in.
  3. You have a singer who takes baths? That's pretty rare. Don't be too hasty.
  4. Not round here it didn't. Buy it and move to Suffolk.
  5. Some Euphonic Audio amps do. My PJB Briefcase has an Active/Passive switch.
  6. I was able to test the Goodwood prototype against my Monza, and for low volume use I couldn't tell the difference. This was with an iAmp doubler, which is around 450W at 8Ohm, this is no problem for the Monza but might embarrass the Goodwood as a sole cab.
  7. If you've got room in the van, one of those semi-rigid cases with wheels might be an option? Someone had one FOC on the forum a couple of months ago, but it wouldn't fit into my car.
  8. That looks like a much better solution.
  9. I think the talk that @51m0n did a few years ago was outstanding, and I'm still using some of the things I picked up from that lecture/demo today. I'm hoping that he's busy this year and won't be able to do anything until 2026 when I might be able to attend!
  10. You might try homebrewing something from a plank, a lighting pole and a speaker top hat. How about a laptop stand? I think a respray might be in order, the colour scheme looks like something out of a care home for old steel guitar players .https://www.dunelm.com/product/ozzy-adjustable-laptop-table-1000266671?defaultSkuId=30966581&branchCode=0122 Slightly nicer finish - similar to the big music stands that MDs like to use. https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Adjustable-Laptop-Stand-by-Gear4music/WJS?utm_campaign=surfaces_across_google
  11. Nile Rogers autobiography Le Freak is a good read. I've just finished reading Just Backdated by Chris Charlesworth, an account of his years working for Melody Maker in the early '70s. An excellent account if like me you were at an impressionable age at the time. I think I got it from @Mickeyboro
  12. This is already a bargain - I paid £165 for mine second-hand and was glad to find one at that price.
  13. Tanglewood Elf, these come up second-hand in the classifieds occasionally. Or maybe a Uke bass?
  14. I've fitted the SE3A to a couple of Bass Collection basses (4 pot) and they are pretty good for the money. One of them developed crackly pots after a few years, the other one is still OK.
  15. I won't be able to make this, Remembrance Sunday is always busy for brass bands. Have a good time.
  16. Still got the Bass Collection SB325 that I got from you @Beedster however many years ago (I'd rather not think about that!)
  17. It would be a great shame if the tickets were only available on Facebook. I for one wouldn't be able to contribute. @Grainger guitars you will need to share this page more widely if you want to sell any tickets.
  18. Did a 2-hour set last night with Ministry of Mojo as part of the Dereham Blues Festival. Really nice venue but very small and dwindling audience, which we just about outnumbered by the end. Unfortunately the venue is out of the town centre and blues fans clearly didn't fancy making the trip out to the suburbs. The office:
  19. We have a new guitarist joining the blues band who is a Line 6 Helix user and doesn't have a guitar amp. At home, he uses a couple of large studio monitors. I'm guessing we can take a feed off the Helix system and run it into the PA , and put some of the signal into the vocal monitors. Surely it can't be that simple? If anyone else is using a Helix system and has any advice I'd be glad of it. Do we use 2 mono or one stereo channel? Do we attempt to mix in stereo for FOH? (I hope not, I think it's mostly a waste of time having stereo FOH for the kind of gigs we do). What do we do about the other guitarist, who does use an amp on stage and for most of his FOH sound? Not looking to go in-ears or anything like that, but if it can be a catalyst to reduce the on-stage volume that would help me control feedback with the upright bass.
  20. It looks to be a similar size and shape to my Epiphone Century, which fits nicely in a TourTech hard case.
  21. A golf trolley. I think I paid £15 for mine second hand and the only mod required was a bit of webbing to extend the strap. Used it at Folk East which is a field on the side of a hill, perfect. I'll post some pictures in the morning.
  22. Nice to see a Duesenberg Star bass getting a rare outing too.
  23. Ironic, given he only seemed to be playing 4 notes. Dullest act by miles, landfill indie personified.
  24. Thanks for that Phil, it looks really useful. I've not had any problems with BandMule crashing, ether on my current Pixel 6a or the Redmi Note 9 that preceded it.
