  1. Well it works for 2 or 3 pedals, and I don't think you'll blow anything up - if there isn't enough current it just means some pedals won't work properly. I don't think the circuitry in these bricks does a great deal, and you might get a very similar result by using a 9V wall wart and a daisy chain.
  2. Should be OK provided your total load doesn't exceed 375 Ma. The individual outputs are not isolated, so you effectively have a daisy-chain of 9V ouputs inside the box anyway. The 18v outputs provide 625 Ma between them and there's no transformer in that part of the circult - the 18V outputs come straight off the 18v wall wart that powers the unit. I have one of these and I have a daisy chain somewhere so can do an experiment if you can wait until this evening for the results.
  3. Ah, OK, if it's the Combo II head then yes, it'll be a LM3.
  4. I wouldn't change the head. The head in these combos is a LMII head which is a class A/B , and gives a much better sound (IMO) than the newer Class D variants. Sell it and buy a newer combo.
  5. Becos would be worth looking at for a pedal, but you might be better off with a 19" rack unit like a DBX166 if you don't like the faff of pedals. Dunno how rack-mountable an Aguilar TH350 is though.
  6. Russ Ballard impression!
  7. @Richthe artwork looks excellent. I have a Fuzzdog EchoBlue Delay which arrived a couple of days ago. I was casting round the garage for a rattlecan of blue paint, but might give this idea a go instead.
  8. Vintage V300 acoustic Seagull Grand Sunburst GT parlour acoustic Epiphone Masterbilt Zenith archtop Fylde Orsino, 1975-ish Anderwood Type 1 Weissenborn lap steel Vintage bitza Strat oh, and a Fylde electric . How did that happen? For someone who doesn't play guitar, I have a hell of a lot of guitars!
  9. 2 for me, and we only play stuff that was recorded by the Pogues.
  10. Here's a picture of the one from my SB465.
  11. I love the sound that Richard Bona gets on the Reverence album, and I think it's a great fit with the styles of music. Here's a couple of examples. Where he drops down to the pedal note in Suninga at 0.42 it still sends shivers down my spine. TIme to break the headphones out.
  12. I love these instruments, the sound they make is incredible. Would love to hear you playing them once the lockdown is lifted.
  13. dave.c had a pair of the original SP212s and they sounded really good.
  14. People have had great results with the John East pre-amps. He's showing out of stock at the moment but might be worth a call, he's a nice chap very friendly and helpful.
  15. Au contraire, I've just had a quick count up and have at least 31 instruments in the house, not including the guitars owned by my son, amplification, pedals, etc and another build on the way. But I am coming round to the idea that it's usually better to understand the problem and fix it, than to throw money at it and hope it'll go away.
  16. The FDeck is a wonderful piece of kit no doubt, but if AndyBass is already using a K&K pre-amp he doesn't need to go and spend any more money on another pre-amp. All K&K preamps have an input impedance of 1MOhm.
  17. You could make a box for it to stand in, that way you could vary the dimensions so that it was a good fit for your bass. I think Bassace had a thread some time ago about how to do this.
  18. You'd be better off with the distance from the 12th fret to the coil centres.
  19. More 'lawsuit' twaddle. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rare-collectors-vintage-1975-EB-3-Electric-Bass-Guitar/324125443973?hash=item4b7761c785:g:27YAAOSwdppeiHnx Unfortunately not rare enough.
  20. Setting up a collection , rather than sending it to someone else, drastically reduces the number of couriers you can use. Could try Eurosender with basschat discount - search parcel discount and you'll find the thread explaining it.
  21. Mike Walsh's handiwork on my CIJ Precision:
  22. And Musicman, virtually everything they make is 17.5mm and the OLP clones were 16.5mm . Pretty sure my G&L Tribute was 16.5mm too.
