  1. Except that it doesn't mention the Taste control, which is one of the most useful features of this amp. Rather than mess about with the EQ, turn it to the left gives a lower-mid boost and an upper mid cut, for a more vintage sound, and turn it to the right seems to cut lower mids a bit, boost the upper mid and add a bit of treble. I have the 110 and I usually just leave the EQ flat and use the Taste control. It's definitely a class A/B. Great sounding amp. I do have a manual somewhere but it doesn't contain much information.
  2. These are great cabs. I stupidly sold mine and missed it so much I had to buy another one. Have a free bump on me.
  3. Yes, my father bought it from somewhere in southern England, in 1970. Don't think they're worth a great deal though. That tailpiece doesn't look right, it's nothing like the one on mine which I know is original. Think the fingerboard is probably ebony.
  4. It looks identical to my Musima, which was from East Germany I think.
  5. I have a Morley Little Alligator which fits the bill. Has a minimum level knob and is industrial grade sturdy. Doesn't have any noticeable effect on the tone.
  6. I've used mine with active basses (BBNE2 which puts out a BIG signal) and downstream of a DHA VT1 Pro and it works well in both cases.
  7. I'd say it relates to the amp and not to the internal speaker (these chassis were I think also available standalone) . If it says 8 Ohms and you're running it at 4, I think there's a risk of damage to the head.
  8. Also seems to be missing it's 'Made in Japan' sticker. I'm not entirely convinced it's Japanese.
  9. My 465 has a 3-piece maple neck, and I think the SB505 I used to have did too. The one you linked to on Gumtree looks like an SB325 to me. The fingerboard is probably ebony. £75 quid is a good price.

  11. I have Delano stacked humbuckers in my SB465. I like them, but I can see that they wouldn't suit everyone.
  12. Bartolini make a set which will fit the Bass Collection 5s, it's something like 94mm long and bridge and neck are the same size. I think Sadowsky also use the same size. Apologies for the thread hi-jack, I think BassBunny has it right wiring-wise.
  13. Japanese SG copy, maybe Avon? Doesn't look too bad and the starting price is reasonable. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1970-s-made-in-japan-sg-shape-bass-awesome-looking-vintage-cool/273808953765?hash=item3fc04911a5:g:DoAAAOSw4A9ctb8I
  14. Never seen a Tomson before. Paging @Bassassin !
  15. I still have my one, but it has a maple fingerboard, besides which it's going nowhere! Another option is to find a sunburst or coloured body and strip it, like people used to do in the '70s. Nice to see those basses of Dood's again.
  16. Might be worth having a look at wheresthegig.com
  17. It would be a great shame to split up this classic bass and it's case. Besides, you're proposing to ship it internationally without a hard case? That way madness lies.
  18. It could also be 2010 - 2011. https://support.fender.com/hc/en-us/articles/214343783-How-can-I-find-out-when-my-Japanese-made-instrument-was-manufactured-
  19. Oh well. Mine's gone missing too. Not sure I can be arsed, assuming I can find the original. I've been trying to give basschat the benefit of the doubt and not use Adblock, but I'm afraid this is a step too far.
  20. Yes, I'd be up for this and might be able to drag a couple of friends along too.
  21. It's a relatively simple mod, but by the time you've paid for the bits and someone to do the work, you might as well sell the one you have and buy something that does what you want. An LS-2 will do this, but needs a plug in the input to turn the pedal on. There are also cheaper A-B switches, but the Radial I/O seems to have other stuff going on (tuner output, mute, gain control).
  22. It's not SGC Nanyo, it's one of the new ones with the 'Joe Hubbard' mods. Aguilar pickups and a badass-alike bridge. Fingerboard is rosewood.
