1. David, I think your thread title may be a victim of auto-correction. Amazing bass, hope you find it a new home soon.
2. The i2M is better than the B2M, but not better enough to make it useable for bass. Latency and tracking are both definitely an issue. The Roland VB99 has a Bass-to-MIDI converter, but I don't know what it's like - when I owned a VB99 I didn't have a suitable MIDI box with the right number of channels (one per string) to try it out with. Ped might be worth asking. Much simpler to buy a keyboard - amazed BigRedX didn't mention that already!
3. Smoothound wireless rig would be a good British addition.
4. Think you'd need 'A or B' on both AB/Y boxes, rather than the 'A and B' which means two pedals to stomp on rather than one. The design of these makes it hard to switch both at the same time, so a bypass looper or a second-hand LS2 would do what you need. As far as I know, there's no Behringer equivalent to the LS2. Happy to be corrected.
5.
So I wanted something that didn't occupy the laps of everyone in the back seat - as the car boot is often full! This bass is a Tanglewood "Elfin". I think it's around 25" scale. I don't know its' exact weight, but it's ridiculously light, and whatever pickups they've installed are great - because if you heard this bass while blindfolded - you'd swear it was a full scale P bass. It's a mini monster, and though I don't use it too often..... It's going nowhere - I love it
This is what I was referring to in post #7 earlier. It's 19.75" scale length. Blue is definitely the better colour.
6.
Apparently he enjoys something called a 'golden shower'.
How on earth did this information get out? Was it some kind of leak?
7.
I'd prefer Brizzle to central London or Stockport... No response from WestSide as of yet...
Sorry about that, for some reason I'd got it into my head that you were oop north.
8. No activity on the account for more than a year, then a couple of purchases? My suspicion would be that this is a hacked account.
9. Or maybe a small mixer with channel mute switches?
10. Another option would be to use a very short jack-jack lead, like a straight patch cable, and use a female-female adaptor for the wireless. There are some pictures of this in the SmoothHound thread somewhere.
11. Check Ebay for a Tanglewood Electric Elf, EB-18 - these are great little basses with 19.75 inch scale length, I bought one for my lad when he was 9. Even a regular short-scale bass will be 30" which is a long stretch for small hands.
12.
Passat estate is like a cave on wheels. Although basically the same car, the Passat has masses more room than the Audi A4. Audi A6 estate is huge though. You can get a surprising amount in a Toyota Yaris if you want something small and cheap.
That's because the Passat uses an A6 floor pan , not an A4.
13. 14. Dave Lunt in Stockport, if he is still working.
15. At least one person posting here hasn't had the same experience as you. http://basschat.co.u...bought-on-ebay/ Doesn't 'Country/Region of Manufacture : China' ring any alarm bells? It should: genuine Elixir strings are made in the US. The Chinese knock-offs aren't coated.
16.
Erm, excuse me! Unless you are putting everyone thru the pa, surely the pa is the singers responsibility, or at least he should contribute more?
Can the band gig without the PA, regardless of whether everything is going through it or not?
17.
The box in the photos looks legit.
Anyone can take a picture of a box. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
18.
It's not that I dislike Dave's playing I just really like Al Gare on upright bass!
I think Al Gare is still playing in Imelda's regular band. Darrell Higham left when they split up though. I'll let you know after the gig in May.
19. Oh, he's clearly got this wrong. 50 people on stage and 4 people in the audience, I might believe.
20.
Totally agree Pete; she was sensational!
The brass and woodwind arrangement was excellent, unfortunately that rarely gets credited so I don't know who to thank. Bass playing was spot on too. Oh Hi Dave☺
21.
It's all scouse banter and should be treated as such. I like the guy. For the record, Jazz doesn't like Noel Gallagher either.
Scouse? Wrong end of the East Lancs Bilbo. This has increased my respect for Noel Gallagher immensely.
22.
Here's another thread too. http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2845811
This is a link to the first posting in Major Minor's Bass Boot Camp thread, which is a mine of valuable information. The index link is here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/74284-the-majors-bass-boot-camp-session-index-1-36/ A lot of the files appear as .ipb - this is a major fault with the bulletin board software which should have been fixed a decade ago. It's not too serious though - you just need to download the files, re-name them to .pdf and everything will show up in the Adobe viewer.
23. This was the stand-out performance for me: written and performed by Imelda May . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILjkdZloLUM And the forthcoming tour is coming to Ipswich! Deep Joy
24. You might be able to get an original from Yamaha, they have a great spares department - I'd try sending an email to Yamaha Music London.
25. I'd go with the TC. At a bass bash in Essex a couple of years back, the TC Electronic head worked a LOT better with TC cabs than it did with dave.c's Aguilar GS112s.
