I have never seen one. I think there is a lot of variation in the design. My 3 all look different, and the original electrics seem to be the only weak spot with these. I have a spare artec 3 band somewhere if you want to give it a try. I now have a Nordstrand in my main bass and that is fantastic.

Dannybuoy is right, the effects loop on lm2 and lm3 is set to parallel by default. You can change it by moving a jumper inside the case. Effects loops are normally designed for line level voltages which you get from things like rack compressors and other studio equipment.

The G&L2500 would be a great choice and there's no need to be intimidated by the switches. The first one is a 3-way pickup selector, the second is a series/parallel switch and the third one is an active/passive switch with a weird treble boost. I used to leave mine on parallel and active, and vary the tone with the pickup selector and tone controls. The BBNE2 is at least 18mm, maybe slightly more. You should look at the Sterling By Musicman Ray 35, the string spacing is 17.5mm and you should be able to pick up a second-hand one in your budget.
