  1. This is pretty much the set I have. I've found it's really good for the price. I've done some kit work with it and I'm currently doing some work on a bass with it. The adjustable heat is useful. Good buy IMO.
  2. Hi Nick, if it's not too much hassel that would be great, cheers.
  3. The only one I kind of miss and it's for senitmentality is the SX jazz bass I sold to @silverfoxnik years ago. It was a bass a mainly used in my old band and I'd played a lot of music on it. Nic, if it's still about let me know eh? 😉
  4. I can't believe I'm saying this, but bass-wise, I'm GAS-free. I've bought 3 basses in the past few months and between them and my older ones, I have everything I need. I just find myself going back to my warwick thumb.
  5. Adam Neeley and although not a bassist, Rick Beato for good overall content. Coversolutions, Luke from become a bassist and Talkingbass for lessons and such. Never really got into Davie504. Andertons are good, especially now chappers isn't about. Ed Friedland is great, not so keen on Scott Devine, too much noodling. BassBuzz can be pretty good for beginner stuff.
  6. I've bought a couple of bass harness' from John, I must've forgot the feedback. A true gent to deal with. Thanks
  7. Phil sold me some straplocks. All good, thanks.
  8. I bought a Warwick $$ from Stuart, he's a great guy to deal with. Comms were good, the bass was well packed, as described and he even included a case. Thanks.
  9. Great choice in bass to go with the best birth year 😉
  10. Mostly on here or eBay, my first few basses were in shop purchases. But the shops around me were (it might have changed in the past 10+ years) very limited in their bass range. Also, I prefere second hand savings. So far I've never had a bass which wasn't as described/something wrong, but if I don't get on with it, it's easy enough to sell it on without as much of a loss if it was brand new.
  11. I was so close to getting a bargain, was it anyone here? eBay link
  12. Tony answered my wanted ad and sold me a GB-7. He was very helpful with pictures and packaging. It was posted quickly and was in as described condition. Top guy to deal with. Thanks
  13. Bought a bass from Andy, top guy to deal with. The bass was perfectly as described and Comms were good too. Thanks.
  14. Did the maple board on my 18yr old bronco yesterday, scrubbed with an old toothbrush and warm (lightly soaped) water, frets gone over with fine grade wire wool, then a good go over with autoglym car polish. I use nomad f-oil on the ebony fretboard of my Warwick thumb. I'd say they're both the same to maintain, just depends on what you want to do in the way of care.
  15. Chris sold me some strap locks, they we're as described, posted promptly and Chris was good to deal with. Thanks
  16. Bought a bass from Nick, it arrived quickly and well packed. It was exactly as described. There was an issue with a string but he resolved this and was very helpful getting it sorted. Great guy to deal with. Thanks.
  17. Lovely looking bass, I've had 3 ATK's over the years, never an 810 though. Nice upgrades, this ticks many boxes with versatility.
  18. Project Bass Couldn't see this posted before. I had to google the woods, never seem them used for instruments. And what's with the 2 random screws in the body?
  19. I've had a similar issue with a USB interface, it was like I was using a delay pedal. Ended up buying a more modern one and the problem went. But yes, it was off putting trying to record on it.
  20. Mine arrived today, alas no AA's indoors, so will have to wait till tomorrow. It could do with a belt attachment
  21. Ooh that is lovely Jay
  22. 3 now: A squier bronco which was my first bass, a gift 17 years ago. It's in a case in the wardrobe, only play it for nostalgia now. Warwick thumb, absolutely love it, I've been a fender style bass player since I started, but I wish I'd tried a Warwick back then, it would've been a whole different story. And finally a 70's fsr precision bass, because everyone needs a precision. Doesn't get as much use as the thumb, but it looks and plays nicely.
  23. As above with the single cut bodies but also ramps, they always look like an afterthought. Semi-fretless basses (Ibanez do a version), just a bit of a gimmick. Roadworn/relic jobs.
