1.
Erm...my 75 Jazz RI......Sorry for the plug.... :)
I've been following your sale thread but tempting as it is I'm afraid it's out of my price range - I've got a couple of other options but if they don't happen maybe I'll have to reconsider...

  2.
Sounds like a good reason to me.
Do you need a letter from us for your wife?
I'm pretty well in credit on the brownie points front so i should be ok, but if I need a note I'll let you know ;p

  3.
A Jazz would be "right" but no one will be able to tell :)
I've seen that show recently and it's great fun..
The production I saw all the music was on backing tracks .. Be much better with a live band..
^^ Jazz would be good and there is a Jazz shaped hole in my collection at the moment...

I'm told the show will be using a mixture of tracks and live band - the keys, bass, drums and guitar are live for the majority of the tracks with some horns, additional keys and backing vocals on click, other tracks are just the live band and a handful are just track. Sould be a good show, my sister is one of the dancers (they've be rehearsing for several months now, we [the band] get one look at it the week before the show!) and she says the cast is pretty good and that some of the tracks are pretty quick - glad I'm not dancing!

  4. From what I've currently got the P is clearly the best choice and I've done a bit of practice on the P for this show, however I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a Fender Jazz, if the Jazz is more appropriate for this show I'll take the plunge and get it, if it's not I'll stick with the P - hence the thread...

  5. Ok - so I've been asked to bass for Boogie Nights [Disco Inferno, Boogie Wonderland, Shaft etc]...

Great as my Overwater fretless is I just don't think it's the right choice for this gig - the question is, what is?

What do you thing I should be using, your thoughts appreciated...

  6. Euphonic Audio iAmp200 Combo - in very good condition, owned since new, now surplus to requirements.

I really need £400 cash for this but would consider a trade for a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0.

Collection preferred but will ship at cost if required.

    Edit for pictures:

One slight nick in input gain knob but otherwise looking and sounding great...

    Thanks for looking...

  7. Mate you are not having much by way of luck at the moment - hope the damage is not too bad and that it isn't going to set you back too much to repair it...

BTW I've put a couple of feelers out for you with regards the sale (to a couple of guys I know who don't come on here) but no takers as yet...

  8. Get yourself an Overwater - you will not be disappointed.

As I already have a 5 String Fretless Progress III and a 5 String fretted Evolution on the way, I'd be looking at an ACG, Shuker or RIM just to see how they compare - probably can't go to far wrong with any of them.

If you fancy something a bit different you might want to look at a Gus -Gus Website saw these the other day and thought umm, could be interesting.

Whatever you fancy - enjoy the experience and happy birthday - a bit early I know :)

  9. I've got an MRS-1266 (earlier version of what you're looking at - 12 tracks not 16) - had it a few years now and it's been great.

Managed to get some good results, it has good on-board effects and is pretty intuitive. The learning curve is not too steep and once you master the basics it's easy. Recording is pretty straight forward and you don't need to be a rocket scientist to get to grips with the editing and mixing side of things either.

I would imagine that the newer version has some better components (bigger HD, better connectivity etc) so if the price is within your budget it provides a good alternative to the Computer based approach IMO.

If you've got further specific questions drop me a PM...
