1.
Im thinking about saving up some moolah and getting to grips with this: http://www.overwaterbasses.com/bass.aspx?t...mp;e=34&c=7
Good choice sir, the blue and maple is a great combination - been contemplating one of these myself - really like the look of this one... I like my black too I currently play an Overwater Progress III Fretless 5 custom which is superb, fantastic build quality and the guys up there really know what they're talking about, as a very satisfied customer I'd happily recommend Overwater. I was sensible enough to get my bass built before I got married and bought a house, the next one will be some way off I fear You need to get in touch with Stu (Bleedproof) he'll be able to fill you in on all the details
2. Hi Chris Glad to have you onboard... Good to chat with you (although it was a few weeks ago now) when were setting this thing up. Only a couple of weeks or so to go, will be here before you know it. Looking forward to meeting you and the rest of the guys soon - bring it on
3. I had a similar dilema - see here... currently still sporting the mirror but still quite fancy a black one
4. hi mike - nice one, hope the session went well
5. indeed - we want to see some pics
6. Thanks Nik - I'm hoping for a good turn out and as you said putting some names to faces will be good... I think Ped has arranged for Chris at the studio to do some filming so all being well there should be some video and pics posted after the event
7. +1 on the Mullards - I've got one in my Bmax T preamp and one in my DHA Overdrive pedal
8. Less than a month to go - so thought it might be a good idea to bring this up the list again
9. Less than a month to go - so thought it might be a good idea to bring this up the list again
10. there's loads of good stuff here about preamp valves...
11. Recently started using DRs - black beauties on my P (they look cool against the maple board) and Nickels on my fretless - not exactly cheap but they sound great
12. I rather like the look of this... link with a maple neck/board and black hardware - emm nice
13. Hi and welcome... EA, nice a quality bit of kit - I've still got my iAmp200 (but only getting used as a back up at the moment)
14. Hi Tony and welcome onboard - always better late than never
15. Great stuff - nice one mate
16. Interesting, I guess at the end of the day they are only worth what somebody will pay for them Reason for asking is that I've been looking (on and off) for a 1976 bass - but only due to sad fact it would be as old as I am, which I think would be quite cool - that said I'm not prepared to pay over the odds for one...
17. Maple fretless - that makes two of us If you think these are overpriced, how much what would you pay for one? I've recently seen a few mid/late 70's fenders on eBay going for between £700 and £1000... I generally agree that the prices seem a bit to high and I'd find it hard to justify spending £1000 on one
18. I also play at playing drums - bought myself an electric kit last year and really enjoy playing along to some of my bands songs, even recorded a few tracks, that's not say I'd play out in public, well not just yet These days my first instrument is most certainly a bass, I played bass trombone for many years and still get it out of the box occasionally, but the chops are way off until about a week back on it, I can also hold down a few chords on keys and guitar, but wouldn't suggest for one minute that I'm a keyboard player or guitarist... First and foremost I'm a musician, so I'll pretty much have a go at anything

Thanks for the info Alun - looks like I might need to consult the finances again

Cheers Alun Might have to take the plunge and order one... fun sounds like a good description, I'm just not sure how practical it would end up being in my trio context... still might be worth a go
21. Looking forward to seeing you all there
22. Just a quick reminder...

That's exactly what I want it for... but it's a bit of a gamble at best part of £170 (cheapest I could find at Dolphin), hence the enquiry for some first hand info, all the better if anybody has one they could lend me for a week or so
24. Nice, like it... good logo too
25. My US P is 9 3/4 lbs which I assumed was quite 'normal' for such a bass... my Overwater weighs in at 11lbs, which I'm guessing is pretty heavy
