2. in the warmoth vid, I like the stock squier better.
3. I directly compared this one to a tonehammer 500, a puma 500, a EA micro, an lm tube and a TC rh 450. I personally like the TTE500 best, directly followed by the tonehammer 500. a great amp, congrats. edit: I had forgotten: the reidmar was in the crowd, too.
4. new, never used. I'm looking for a black adjustable 4-String quality bridge, toploader and brass if possible. of offer anything else.
5. bought andys shuker geddy neck. he's a real gent and a pleasure to deal with. thanks.
6.
it's not all about the volume (although it's nice to potentially have a ton of headroom). I simply seem to enjoy the sound coming at me from a wall of speakers, even at moderate volume. A "fuller" sound, with a lot more of your highs and mids intact. A very pleasurable experience !
I hear you! congrats. just too heavy for my back.
7. orange. nothing else.
8. wowza! which building do you want to tear down?
9. one should never say never, but it would be almost impossible for me to part with this modded 1965 guild starfire 1: and this 1987 guild nightingale:
10. whatever suits the music best...
11. thanks shep, great stuff as usual.
12. I know their pr guy in person and also checked it already a year ago. it is awesome for guitar, but still a bit limited for bass. and as wf666 mentioned it is more about kloning existing amps. if you are into your personal sound, it might not be suitable (that's why I have a custom guitar amp in the make for me)
13. what about a LeFay Pulse? it is a bit more than what you intended to spend, but alternatively ther also is the LeFay Herr Schwarz.
14. thats's nothing compared to this club in hamburg. check out the panoramas, esp. the 2nd on the right. and yes, they all are original and none gets played. the owner of the club is a bass collector.
15.
This is one of the best Prince live vids ive ever seen..... There are so many musical influences within this track... This guy can surely speak through his guitar......
yep, it's great. I am a huge fan of his work, but have never been and will never be one of his guitarsound. it sounds so 80ies
16. I do it regularly but more when playing solos, especially on guitar. for me this is the musical dimension I always try to achieve and the only way you can let your soul speak, or the energy flow through you to the audience, or god through you, or pure expression or however you might call it. this is what for me is most important in music, aside the communication inbetween the bandmembers: the energy exchange between artist and the audience to reach another level/dimension...to experience something special.
17.
Great read. Thanks Shep
thanks, +1 and I hope you don't mind I share this again.
18. I'm actually not into precisions at all, so I just can guess. but I enjoyed listening to your cool chops a lot. 1-'00 2-'71 3-'58 I'd probably like no. 2 best if it hadn't dead strings, but for me 3 is the most beefiest one.
19. for my band I always had a special bass sound in mind that I couldn't afford at once. so I went through different basses and slowly came closer until I had found my old starfire bass for a good price - the sound I always was looking for in the band context. my bandmembers always noticed and made compliments about sound improvements. and since I have my current rig with the starfire I only see smiling faces and my bass sound has become part of the trademark sound of my band. in the band I play guitar in we always talk about our different instruments and rigs and everyone notices a change and makes comments - mostly good ones.
20. friday bump
21. hi fellow basschatters, sold for 950€. unfortunately not though basschat. huge picture gallery
22. i'm on there, too but nothing serious, yet.
23. since I have some very different basses, it sums up in feel and sound. good playability is a must anyway, if it it looks cool, even better. an instrument has to speak to me, inspire me. then I'll love it deeply.
24.
Thanks for sharing on that German bass forum! The statistics on my site told me I suddenly got a load of hits from a web server I'd never seen before so I went for a look. I recognised the profile pic!
you're welcome!
25. great stuff, thanks for sharing.
