This is mine. It was a free listing day on eBay so I thought I would put up the bass for an offer I couldn't refuse. If it sold then I would get money I need, if it didn't I would be left keeping a bass that I love. TBH I am pretty relieved that it didn't sell, the only annoying thing is the insulting offers I received once the auction had ended. As for the colour, as I said in the listing it is green or blue depending on the light. It looks very green next to something that is blue and very blue next to something that is green.
Okey dokey, so: The head is a 500w hybrid (switchable between 4ohms or 8ohms) - Say I order a 212 cab at 8ohms, I wouldn't be using the whole power of the head, but I would be able to get another cab (at 8ohms) later, and get the full 500w out of it? Jeff said the wattage of the cab is extremely important - I think he said that I would need a much higher powered cab to be able to use it comfortably. He said I would need a cab at about 1000w to make sure it would sound clean - is this only if I get one 4ohm cab? Would I need to get a 500w, 8ohm cab to start with, and then get another one later if I need? It's kinda tricky business... Jeff also said I could come to the factory and try out any cab I wanted with my head, and bring a drummer and guitarist along with me and try them out in a band situation. Which would be absolutely great...but I wanna get the technicalities sorted first.
It provides the full 500w at both 4ohm and 8ohm, I have played through a 4ohm (EBS) and an 8ohm (Orange SP212) cab with it and the difference is negligible.

I have both the Terror Bass and the Little Bastard. I love the LB and it provided the best sound I have ever achieved for recording, however it is inadequate for rehearsal with drums, especially punk. It can do a fairly loud completely broken up sound, but if you need more definition then your buggered. I mostly play in a folk band and that requires a clean sound that the LB cannot provide when competing with drums. The OTB is super loud, I have never had it above c. 9 o'clock either master volume or gain and that includes playing outdoor festivals, it is loud. That the OTB is much louder, cheaper and highly portable makes it the best choice. It also sounds great.

Have you always wanted to be in a band called The Institute? Now is your chance! I am including my old band name for free when you buy this Rockcase pedal board for £25 including postage and packaging (which is a fair chunk of the asking price TBH). As you can see, the metal box comes with all six sides and a groovy, unique etching that looks almost like it has been [s]shoved into the back of a van a hundred times[/s] carved by the gods. See how these faux tribal etchings catch the light, creating a memorising display of iridescent beauty. The inside is furnished with tiny little loops: To protect your new band name and the limited edition etchings, the metal box will be smothered with plastic bubbles. On the box is a mysterious upside-down code Here are some boring details about the pedal board that you probably aren't interested in: RockCase Guitar Effects Pedal Board /Case Combo: 6-8 Pedals - Solid effects pedal case for road use - Aluminium case with aluminium edge trims and chrome-plated corners - Nickel-plated steel-spring handle with transparent PVC cover - Solid hinges - 2 chrome-plated butterfly locks - Interior covered with velcro - Usable utility space: 60 x 40 cm (max height of effect 10cm / 3.94") - Burl foram material padded top - PVC feet - Weight: 5.5kg - Dimensions: 60 x 40 x 10cm

Also I was was looking at the video that Fender made for the bass: http://www.fender.com/products/60th-pbass/...?prodNo=0196002 In the background during two of the shots was a seafoam or sherwood green slab bodied precision bass hung on the wall. Why on earth didn't they release that as the anniversary bass? I would have sold the wife in a shot to buy that.
The 'blonde' Japanese RI was a hideous colour - that's the only thing that let it down.
Each to their own, luckily yellow is my favourite colour so I love the look, especially with a white pickguard. But you are right that the model was let down by the finish, it would have been nice to have had a more period correct lacquer to compliment the other vintage-style features. The new anniversary model lacks all the little idiosyncrasies that made the Japanese RI so likeable (single coil pick up, two saddle bridge, vintage neck radius, headstock etc), Fender seem to be paying homage their history by presenting the most boring and conservative configuration of a precision.
One alternative is to just buy trousers that fit properly... Seriously, I never had a problem with this (due to the aforementioned trousers not needing a belt) but when I used my Ibby sr500 as the house instrument for a jam night, it got progressively more and more mauled by the other punters! One of these would have been a good idea and I'll get something like it if I ever do something similar with my loving if amateur refinned jazz. I've just realised though, my bass has crept upwards over the last few years such that even if I wore a belt it still wouldn't scratch it At 29 I've become a sad, old man.
Why not an all-in-one suit made out of microfibre cloth?

Just got an email from BKP showing off their new site and it has a dedicated bass section now. Pretty excited. http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/main/p...ps.php?cat=bass
Nice work mate, I like the third track a lot, I bet you guys are pretty lively live? Chris
Thanks very much, we manage to work up a good sweat on stage. We will have to make sure we gig in Canterbury at some point, I would love to (being a massive fan of Caravan).

Have you considered a Shecter "Damien" 4 string active bass?
