1. SOLD I'm 100% going to regret this but I have some bills to pay... Fender mustang bass dated 1973/1974. This has been professionally refinished in firemist gold, custom mint green pick guard copy of the original perloid which is included. Fingerboard side edges slightly rolled, bone nut installedd by a professional. All electrics and wiring are original except I think a single wire was replaced. All Original hardware. Has been shielded under the gold paint. Darkened rosewood fingerboard. Weight 8.1lbs P bass width neck but obviously short scale. Strung with daddario flat mustang strings (maybe 45s). Super tight snug neck pocket which is something barely seen in these years. As pictured a single sheet of paper can't slide in any side or back of the neck to body heel. No extra holes or routes under the hood. Some dings on the back of the neck as with most vintage from this era. Includes some random unbranded hardshell case and a new pack of round wound d'addario exl170s strings. UK only - sent insured postage against loss + damage. NOT INCLUDED IN PRICE. No offers as this is probably the nicest vintage mustang you'll see in a long time and it's completely unique.
2. EICH T500 Classic (includes enclosure) in black brand new in packaging. Postage at additional cost. UK Birmingham based.
3. JUST TO CONFIRM THIS ISNT A HEADSTOCK BREAK - ITS A TINY PIECE OF WOOD NEXT TO THE NUT ON THE TOP WHERE ITS SANDED - HAS BEEN GLUED BACK SEAMLESSLY. Selling a mij Fender 70s precision bass neck which needs some minor tlc. I bought this as is intending on using for a project but I've decided to go rosewood instead. Specs I believe are 7.25" radius 1.625" nut with vintage frets and a shallow profile. Straight and truss works. Frets barely used. Mild flame front back. Can only find one tiny surface ding in the heel where the neck meets the body. The end next to the nut snapped off with a very clean break which has been glued back and sanded down smooth. You honestly cant even see the break even up close. The hairline in the side of the black binding is slightly visible up very close but I expect it won't be visible with laqeur over it. The area around will need some stain to match the grain I imagine. I'm not sure I can even capture it on my camera. Again this was a super clean break and everything lined up to a fraction. The sanding to the wood is only on the front head of the neck. I'm going to throw in the genuine Fender Bridge, 70s japan pickups and wiring (untested but I have zero reason to think they won't work). UK only 200 posted.
4. Is this still for sale?
5.
I've measured mine and the ones I have are slightly smaller. I also only have 3 (and a rattly one). So I can't offer a set. The spigot size is about 14mm though.
Hey, thanks for getting back to me . I only need one so 3 would be more than enough. My measurements might be slightly off, but the tuner itself is very unique. The closest I've found are Gotoh's but even then, they're still different. If it looks the same there's actually a good chance it could fit. Would you be able to send me a front and back picture just so I can take a look please?
6.
The measurement you want to know is the diameter of the hole in the headstock. The bushings usually fit into these holes and are usually 17.5 mm or 16 mm for Fenders. Checking the spindle on mine (which are standard vintage Fender) it is 14mm, which is the same as yours. Looks like a standard set of tuners would fit the hole. I notice 'Bass Parts resource' in the states sell a full set. http://www.guitarpar...unersfender.htm
Thanks for the help . I'll measure when I get home later. Which is the set you're looking at? Because I can't find an identical set anywhere. Regardless, I think getting a single tuner from wayne or Grangur would be ideal to keep the bass original and keep costs down... still I might have to get a new set of 4 if things don't work out unfortunately.
7. I hope this helps. Measurements aside, I can't find a single bass key which looks the same so if it lines up with what you have then it'll most definitely be the same. The only damaged part is the base "key" bit. Thanks.
8.
Oh whoops, my bad. Hope someone can help Edit. Just had a look, lovely looking bass, is it short scale?
No worries, thanks for your input! It is a short scale, I also own a vintage modified short scale jaguar to compare the neck to. The musicmaster has a far thicker and wider neck, same nut as my american special precision, jaguar is like a jazz. I'm going to be selling the jaguar soon to downsize.
Before you buy a full set, remove the damaged tuner and check the diameter of the tuning peg hole. Most Fender holes are 17.5 mm but some Japanese Fender ones are 16mm.
Thanks, will do. I haven't had to replace or fit tuners before. I've spent about 2 hours looking around for tuners of the same design as these, however I can't find any . It'll be a shame to replace all 4 because the bass itself is completely stock and I would like to keep it that way.
Send me pics and measurements. I might have one. I've taken some nickle ones from a 1996 Squier
This would be an absolute lifesaver if they fit! I'll post some pics to this thread tonight, I'll shoot you a PM to let you know when I do. If it's a replacement then I'd be very happy to pay for the tuner and shipping. Thanks all!
9.
Did you buy it new?
They only made them for 1 year in 1997, so unfortunately not.
10. Hi guys, I have a lovely musicmaster bass which I got today but one of the tuning keys was completely damaged in shipping. The problem is I really can't find any direct replacement. I guess I'll have to replace all 4 of the keys for other ones but I'm not really sure which I'll need. If anyone could help I'd be eternally grateful. I can get measurements and pics if requested. Many thanks.
11. Bought some pickups from stevie, great communication and fast postage. Would recommend!
12. Hi, just to confirm do you mean pre grooved saddles or slotted after purchase? Thanks
13.
So in what way does this differ from any other Fender bass?
Should have an 'A' neck like a Fender Jazz. Something Fender should offer anyway.
14. I bought a stingray, nice bass but not for me. Then I bought a Fullerton P bass, loved it except for the chunky neck. Finally settled on a American Special P bass. I can't see myself ever getting rid of this bass, certainly not playing anything other than a P bass. I don't want to own any other bass. Leo was a genius.
15. Ocean turquoise metallic.
16. Can't believe this is still here. Have a bump. Probably would have bought this if not for my P bass.
17. Very strange, hopefully he's found alive and well.
18. £12 delivered within the UK.
19.
Except of course the T-40!
Ah, yes! Very true!
20. I have to disagree for Warwicks, Ibanez and Peavey. Certainly for over on "that other forum" anyway. Though in the UK Peavey aren't that popular at the moment, I'll admit.
